Why is my map so fucked? It keeps randomly changing locations when I'm just stationary at home, and when I walked to a pokespot it kept fucking up and putting me like a block too far away.

The first time I went to the park by me I took my camera (I'm a nature photographer) because I was embarrassed to be seen holding my phone in the air looking for pokemon.
This park is usually dead, mostly old people from the retirement home but there were DOZENS of people all playing this game. Groups of teens, some husband wifes and even the occasional solo person.

If you're quick about swiping you can get pokestops I think, but you have to be really quick. You probably don't get any distance for your eggs on the bus, and I don't know if you'll really encounter many Pokemon, but I'm not sure about that.

As far as I can tell, CP doubles during evolution, so having a maxed out pre-evo and then evolving it would be the most efficient, since catching loads of the pre-evo is easier (giving you a greater chance at a higher % of the max CP)
I'm not 100% on all this, but that's my understand at this point, someone might want to confirm or deny.

Evolving multiplies CP so evolved will almost always be better. But at your level don't worry about it. Up to 12-15 just fill out your pokedex and stock up on candies and stardust.

Its funny how they took all the info from ingress.. Same pics i took, but i think the large dense clusters were simplified. Used to farm certain areas but now theres only 1-3 instead of 20 on the same block and the one thats left has the wrong info, so probably it just averaged them out. Pre evo, high cp with the least of the white line above the pokemon being filled, the remaining part is how much you can train it so a mon with a half filled line with 200 is better than an almost finished line doduo with 230 cp

The open list is sorted by distance, so the further down it is the the farther away.
So if you start walking in a direction and it rises through the list you are likely getting closer. When you get to two steps, then you can do some real triangulation using the 3 circles/diameter trick.

I have to keep making really long farming trips in town to keep enough pokeballs for rare captures.
In my town thee is a circle of 6 pokestops and by the time you get to the last one, the firsthas refreshed, ceating an endless loop. Fortunately im used to walking so my body can handle walking in a 2km loop maybe 10 times to get back to 50 balls.
