After getting my shiny Regice in 756 SRs, I'm currently 350 SRs in for a shiny Registeel.
Blue with a dark green is beautiful, or anything with turquoise or aquamarine as long as it isn't brown.

I was MMing for shiny Wooper in a Dream Ball when suddenly, my 3DS screen started flashing black. I Googled the problem, and people are saying that those with the problem should send their console in to Nintendo immediately for repair. I put everything in Bank as soon as I could so that in case something happened to my 3DS, I wouldn't lose any of my mons. But I'm still really bummed that I can't MM for this little cutie anymore. I was working with a DBHA female I had received in a trade. She was already pentaperfect, so I went with her instead of a 2 IV Toxicroak one from the Friend Safari. I was planning on switching to al the first normal ability 5IV female that popped out if a male didn't hatch, but it was just bad luck to get a shiny on the fifth egg with the HA.

If you don't care about iv's, then don't worry. Here are a few tips though.
>without the Charm, the rate is 1/512
>buy a ton of Super Repels so you dont get into an unwanted encounter
>if the searched mon won't appear, hit Search and bike back and forth. It should appear after a couple times of doing this, be careful you don't scare it off

Wanna know the kicker though? I also searched for the other two on the same save. What I ended up with are two carbon copies of the same IV spreads and the same nature. No joke, put those stats on a calculator and you will get the same IVs for all three.
How? Well that to this day I still don't know how it happened, it just sorta did. The RNG manipulator guy around here can probably back me up in the fact that RNG abuse in FR/LG is almost worthless to try because the seed generation in those games actually works as intended.
The one explanation I have is I got the same seed generated by chance for all of them, AND when it did I happened to also hit the same shiny frame. Statistically speaking, I don't know what are the odds of that even happening when done at complete random, but it's something I still remember as if it was yesterday.

Here's what I think happens:
>Pokemon to be spawned is taken from the frame the encounter is generated
>Synchronize moves this pokemon to the appropriate frame and can turn it shiny
On Route 103, I got Wurmple/Zigzagoon/Poochyena with 1 frame. I should mention i have a GIGANTIC amount of frames for this shiny frame, 45. Meaning 45 chances to get a different encounter.
Obviously this won't work well if you have say, 5 frames or so. You should try playing with Battle Videos to advance time, since i finally got it down. If you want me to explain it, i can in another post.

How far in is it? I can explain how battle videos can work. In fact i'll do it anyways.

There's some shit you gotta do to calibrate it, to find out the frame your video is on. From smogon's guide:
>To find out the PRNG value stored in the video, simply use EonTimer set at a low frame like 1000, start the timer at the same time you press B to exit the video, and encounter a Pokemon when the timer runs out. A stationary Pokemon would be ideal, as it's easier to find out what frame you hit. Determine the frame you landed on, subtract that value from your target frame, and add that to the value in EonTimer.
Note that this can not only send you forward possible hours, but it can rewind to a frame too. No need to spam resets.
