The XY&Z28 flash back reminded me just how much of a shit head Ash was in the first season, and how little the flashbacks we've gotten in Kalos have matched up with that. I guess you could say that he was spunky little kid, and this matured a bit into stubborn headed arrogance born out of ignorance until he actually managed to learn something and just left the stubborn drive and kindness again.
