I think I'll pick up working on that MM Porygon I've been putting off. Took 4 boxes of breeding my 5 IV Pory + 6 IV Ditto to get a 6 IV Pory. Now I'm at 6 boxes total.
I've been breeding for shinies as of late. Just made an Ampharos (perfect IV/Modest) and am working on a shiny Goodra next. I actually got a shiny Goomy on my 12th egg, but gave it to a friend because it wasn't in the right place IV-wise.

Well I took a break from shiny hunting to raise some of the shiny pokemon I had gotten. The Zorua was an expected surprise I got 3 eggs in! Gotta admit, I'm kinda disappointed shiny Garchomp doesn't look all that different from a regular one, especially since the previous evos had a more distinguishable color scheme.
Now I'm ready to get back to hunting, but I'm indecisive. I don't know whether to go for a Treecko, Feebas, Magikarp, Honedge, or a male Nidoran next. Plus the Garchomp still needs a nickname.

Those Magikarp were assholes. The nerve of them making me hatch over 1000 before getting a shiny one made my blood boil. They even had the audacity of spelling that message out in the middle of it all. They also hatched too fast making it difficult to accumulate eggs.
Been attempting to breed a shiny Whimsicott lately just to past the time. It's weird, but I'm really looking forward to seeing and breeding some SM shines. Hope the mechanics stay the same because I've gotten a ton from breeding ever since Gen 6.

It's basically a much less stressful version of the pokeradar. Breaking a "chain" does not decrease you're chances of finding a shiny, just the level, ivs, and potential to have hidden abilities, or egg moves.
Use the dexnav to encounter a pokemon and it will have a better chance to be shiny, period.

By the by, what would you say are the rarest Vivillion patterns these days? I finished my normal Vivillion collection ages ago, so no doubt things have changed. I recall Ocean being pretty rare, along with Sandstorm. Ocean at least seems to have become more common, based on what I've seen recently. People probably began specifically lying about their region on their DS to trick the cart (since it sets once the file is created and never checks again) specifically to get Ocean.
I'm planing on starting a new run on AS sometime in the nearish future, and just figured I might as well see what would be the most helpful for the general trading communityand profitable for me.

I hope they put some equivalency system, return mons that don't get traded after a day or two, and actually program it so you can't request impossible things.
Would also like for them to add being able to request a level 1 mon instead of 1-10, show moves, ball, and ability, and let you request more specific things like a certain egg move or ability.

And yeah, hah hah, holy shit. All those level 100 Shiny Spewpa's (making the whole thing quite pointless) from people with fucked up avatars and comments. It didn't use to be like that, I recall. It was mostly full of trash common forms, and rarely a Vivillion you wanted that someone else probably already got anyway. Well, I guess there were always people expecting a ridiculous legendary, though this was also before we knew about the hidden legends, but rarely any shinies and never any glitched people (I guess because hacking is easier now).
Pretty much the only time reddit genuinely justified its existence was with the Vivillion and Friend Safari trade. Managed to complete everything fairly easily and with no trade fuck ups.Also, oh man, did I forget how poor the UI is for the GTS. Have to scroll down through each name and letter. No skipping with the shoulder buttons or quick scroll on the touch screen either.
So I'm in Japan for a month and this happened on my new Y file while I was dicking around waiting to arrive home on a bus.

There is. Having a Pokemon with Telepathy as an ability and the move Skill Swap (Gardevoir or Musharna), or having Switcheroo and Earthquake as moves with the item Air Balloon. Skill Swap Telepathy on Seviper and the Zangoose won't attack it; likewise, Trick the Air Balloon onto it on the first turn and EQ the second. I'm not sure which Pokemon learns Trick + EQ, though.
