Crawdaunt =< Power Sariel: Power Sariel has very strong mixed offenses and a good speed stat while still being more durable than Crawdaunt, but Crawdaunt has Swords Dance + Adaptability + Aqua Jet, which is a disgusting combination against anything that doesn't resist water. I'm leaning towards Power Sariel here, but it's a very very close deal.
Diancie >>> Power Yorihime: Power Yorihime's nothing to sweat at, but Diancie's Mega-Evolution is ungodly overpowered (160/160/110 offenses on something with Magic Bounce is insane). Congrats on the RNG picking something in OU.
Swanna >>>>> Speed Lyrica: Swanna is so bad I actually had to look up the Smogon analysis to figure out what they did with it (the answer being "Defog user in PU"). Speed Lyrica is one of the weaker puppets out there and still is more potent thanks to having STAB on one of the best offensive types in the game (Nether) plus a passable ATK and base 115 speed.

Scrafty << Defense Koakuma: Koakuma has this on account of strong defensive stats, a set-up move in Brave Song to make her not set-up bait, and an incredible ability in Healing Power to enable her to recover from severe blows. Plus she can set up Genbu, which goes well with her base 30 speed stat.

I was comparing the Pokemon and Puppet's general viability to each other, not which one would actually win in a 1v1.
Under the latter question, Power Yorihime would probably atomize Diancie, but Scrafty would destroy Defense Koakuma thanks to the latter's Fighting weakness. So it would still be a 4-1 or 3-2 result in favor of puppets.

Ambipom < Extra Renko: Ambipom is best summed up by how the RU analysis's one set for it is named, and I am not making this up, "DON'T USE AMBIPOM"; while this is because Ambipom is much worse than another Pokemon in the same tier that is itself not very good, it does not paint him in a good light at all. Extra Renko may be the puppet equivalent to Shuckle, but her access to Bind Trap, her absurd defenses (40/205/205), and considering how Shuckle was banned from RU despite having a drastically worse typing than RenkoE...
Farfetch'd <<<<<<<<<<< Defense Meiling: Farfetch'd has a BST of 352. There are Normal style puppets with a BST of 350. Defense Meiling is kind of meh, but she's not Farfetch'd.
Nidoqueen < Extra Yukari: While Nidoqueen is much more dangerous than her stats would lead you to believe thanks to having Sheer Force for an ability and thus being able to run a Life Orb without the recoil drawback for some brutal damage output, Extra Yukari is a hard-hitting (125 ATK) Warp type with very solid defenses (100/95/85) and still packing a passable base 95 speed stat, while also having the puppet equivalent of Unaware as an ability choice. It's actually pretty close (which shows how a good ability can more than compensate for a middling stat distribution), but I'm leaning towards Extra Yukari here.
Gengar ? Speed Futo: This is a really big one and the specifics would take a long time to discuss, but the short of it is that Gengar would be better if you counted for it it's Mega Evolution but otherwise would be considered worse than FutoS. Gengar may be the only Pokemon to be OU in every generation and lives up to the hype, but FutoS is really disgusting in what she can do.
Yveltal < Assist Raiko: Yveltal does not have hands to play drums with and thus is inferior to Raiko by default.

As I've said, most puppets are clustered in the UU-RU range of quality, rather than how in Pokemon the power level is drastically more uneven; a very significant amount of Pokemon sit in NU or PU, far more than exist in OU, Ubers, or AG.

It's kind of obvious that Yveltal is stronger than RaikoA, no denying that.
But the whole point of this was proving that on average, a randomly chosen Pokemon would be worse than a randomly chosen puppet; even being as biased towards the Pokemon as possible still is only a 5-5 record; a more neutral POV would put it at a 6-4 or 7-3 record, and an 8-2 if one considers Gengar to be worse than FutoS. And of the two that are clear-cut decisions in favor of the Pokemon, one of them has access to a Mega-Evolution (a mechanic that has no equivalent in TPDP) and the other is a BST 680 version mascot Uber (again, there's nothing on that caliber of strength in TPDP)

The thing with Ubers is that the stuff in the tier was almost always designed to be really overpowered compared to the normal Pokemon, and balance never really went into consideration when making them. So you end up with the issue of little kids wanting to use their awesome box legendary but being disappointed when it's banned from most tournaments and whatever battle facilities are in that game.
TPDP doesn't have anything of that level of power save for the upgraded dream fragment, which requires you to beat the battle tower equivalent (good luck with that) and can't be used online anyways.
So no, there is no puppet comparable in strength to Mewtwo, Kyogre, Arceus, or the like (although depending on the Uber it's possible for one of the strongest puppets to be able to put up a good fight/win against it, like how the strongest stuff in OU can somewhat keep up with what the Uber tier holds). But that's a deliberate design choice, not a fundamental flaw of TPDP.

That wasn't me. Even Gen 6 had me still like all the Pokemon introduced (like I did with every previous generation) and the new mechanics (Mega-Evolutions, fairy type, trying to balance things a bit more than previously even if I hated the Special Attack nerfs). What killed Gen 6 for me were how the actual games just weren't very good and how GF ditched the third version that probably would have salvaged XY like how Platinum salvaged DP in favor of just jumping straight to Gen 7.
I replied there because I wanted to actually do the analysis of the matchups myself, and then did the second five myself out of interest in the topic.

Think about this in a smogon mind-like state. Such as if your team is weak to... Say, wind types, then put a Nazrin on your team and set up something like Stealth Trap.
There isn't such a website to help you on this besides the most used puppets I think, but the game gives you all the applications to help you on this trek.

Extra and speed are good. S has enough Spread that she can invest fully into speed and still be damaging only held back by being monotype. E has wish equivalent with 130 HP and okay defenses and sp attack. Her new typing is better and she gets some trap moves (unsure if they're actually good here but just saying there's those and perish song).
