That argument works for some people, but you have to understand that breeding is an absolutely massive part of the game for a decent amount of people who play pokemon - even minecraft pokemon. To some people, the decision of whether breeding stays or goes is the same thing as deciding whether or not they're going to continue playing at all. You don't cycle through "Secret Effects" to turn on a shader. You have to install Optifine, put the shader in the shaderpacks folder, and then go through Video Options > Shaders to turn them on.
