Worked pretty well. They both get multiple ranged attacks, though I neglected to get energy ball, sludge bomb, and flamethrower until the last possible chance before I couldn't get them because I was locked into the Tree of Life and Dark Matter dungeons.

Snivy/Fennekin. I think I've mentioned why - Snivy gets great physical moves and can run Energy Ball for a little sniping, while Fennekin can wipe floors quickly with Heat Wave and snipe with Flamethrower/Psybeam.

The quiz chose Turtwig for me so I just went with him. Plus I thought it was amusing playing as a starter that sprouts a tree on its final evo in a game centered around a giant tree of life. Then I picked Fennekin as a partner because she a cute. Little did I know how much her sniping skills would save me.

Bring pounce and stawaway wands and don't be afraid to use them. Although it doesn't really apply to Submerged Cave, pounce wands are really useful for jumping on mons with room-hitting moves. If you're right next to them, then they won't use the room-hitters.

Is there a list of Pokemon I can recruit somewhere? I'm about to start RRT (my first PMD) and I was hoping I can get my Pokefu.
>>
>>25047326
If you want Jumpluff, you have to wait until the post game to get one from Pitfall Valley.

Alternatively, you can go into Remains Island, a Wonder Mail only dungeon, and recruit one before the postgame. The downside to this is you have to fight off high level pokemon to get to Hoppip, the strongest being level 30+. You won't beat the main story before then unless you grind.

Also, during your playthrough, the credits are NOT the end of the game. Theres a ton of post credits dungeons.
>>
>>25047349

All the ones that aren't called Gates to Infinity.

Luckily for you, in Sky Hoppip is found in the fifth dungeon. Or, if you're really impatient and want Jumpluff ASAP, you could just cheat and give yourself a super easy mission an hour or two in where one will join. I don't recommend this, as they join at level 1 and won't have much in the way of moves
>>
>>25047390
Oh, and lucky you anon, Jumpluff is in one of the only IQ groups with Nature Gifter. You can use your favorite to powerlevel your other favorites with Joy Seeds!

>>
>>25047424

>>
>>25047424
Save states wont work.

Eventually you'll have to save for good. Trying to quicksave will boot you to the title screen, with no save.

Just try to run Blue Rescue Team instead, if you can. Or do what >>25047435 said, and delete ALL files having to do with the game aside from the game itself. I recommend just playing Blue instead

Slightly unrelated, but you're likely to encounter the same issue with Pokemon Emerald and maybe FRLG too. Pokemon games use a different save format than VBA's default, so you have to change them manually.
>>
>>25047447
Emerald is still playable and able to be saved, but it's as if the internal battery is dead. No daily events will happen.

I still recommend just getting a DS emulator, you'll need to do it anyways if you decide to play Sky.
>>
>>25047441
I just checked, and save states are working for me. Is there a quicksave feature ingame that you could be thinking of? I'm using the save function built into VBA.
>>
>>25047454
In game, there's a Quicksave feature. Using this when saves fail boot you to the title screen.

You are FORCED to quicksave upon entering certain dungeons. Therefore, the game is unplayable past a certain point.

That doesn't make sense, if I just played off of VBA's savestates, it would count as playing the game in one go without turning the power off.

Reloading a VBA/other emulator savetate doesn't turn the game off.
>>
>>25047476
I'm talking about playing normally in Red. Eventually, before you enter Buried Relic, you are forced to do an IN GAME quicksave.

Go ahead and try to use your in game quicksave by opening your menu and going Others>Quicksave or Give Up>Quicksave. The end result is what happens when you try to enter the Buried Relic, which you must do to gain access to nearly all of the post credits content.

uh, that's funny
Well, I did happen to get something similar, and I've seen other people having the same problem, but it was just some of the Pokémon sprites with some of the pixels out of place. And they did change like that. After defeating them they disappeared too. I don't think you should get worried too much, but I guess it would be interesting to find out how it happens. You happened to have a particularly cool result though.

I think the pink thing is supposed to be part of Cyndaquil's sprite. There was a Cyndaquil near to it and it was strange as well.

>>25047070
>>25047083

That's the sprite glitch. It's a really rare but harmless bug that happens to the graphics of some mons, where their palettes get swapped and each animation makes them glitch.
I've had it happen to me on Rescue team in Joyous Tower; a Chikorita and a Squirtle got glitched and their palettes swapped. Chikorita was brown and Squirtle was normal, and suddenly Squirtle became green and Chikorita was normal.
It goes away after one is defeated. Not sure what causes it, maybe a spawning issue or something.
>>
>>25047814
I had quicksaved on the floor, and loaded the save. I saw that not too long later. Maybe it's a bug relating to being on a floor for so long after a Quicksave?
>>
>>25047822
Maybe, but I don't think so. I never quick save and it happened. It's just a random bug.
>>
>>25047857
I don't think it can be random. I guess the best way to figure out what exactly is happening is learning how the game manages the RAM and analyze it when it happens.

I know I know it's everyone and their mother's favorite Pokemon but I still love it just the same.

Can't recruit.png
80 KB, 545x528
OK. So here's my problem. I'm at Grand Master already, the only available mission is to find Zygarde. I have spoken to every Pokemon, encountered them in dungeons as enemies, recruited Mewtwo and the Lake Trio of emotions, and no one in any of the towns are willing to talk to me anymore. I don't even encounter them in random dungeons where they are either traveling or fainted.

Did I miss my chance to recruit these pokemon?
>>
>>25048713
Or do I have to restart my game?
>>
>>25048713
Some shit are just traveling pokemon that you're not going to have to care about until they're on your ticker. Some like Kecleon you're just not going to get until you talk to them later with more connected. Some you don't need to a request to go get, as in any dungeon with a legendary's face you can do. From the looks of that you haven't even done Mysterious Geoglyph, because by completing there you just get Genesect for free. Now, unless I see you with 100% map completion and still don't have everyone (Which would be a fucked up glitch), get outta here and don't even think about restarting.
>>
>>25048739
Oh so they'll be in dungeons I haven't ventured into yet? My maps 83.0% complete.
>>
>>25048748
There's probably a few travelers that snuck in behind the initial wave, so you'll get those later. For now just do some legendary fights, some treasure dungeons, just keep going until you run out of legendary faces on the map selection. You can probably guess when you get to fuck with Destiny Tower and Arceus.
>>
>>25048713

You never miss a chance to recruit Pokemon.

If finding Zygarde is your only mission then completing it should allow you to see where some traveling Pokemon are.

Most of the legendaries you shown should have locations where their mugshots are on the area selection screen.

And the genies are hiding out in a certain dungeon, if you encounter them and they get away you have to enter the dungeon again to try to get them.
>>
>>25048762
So all those other Pokemon are in Zygarde's place having a party?

>>
>>25046088

Being phanpy is suffering in Sky
>>
>>25049856
Pretty sure that the difficulty's determined by the strength of the Pokemon in the dungeons, not by how hard it'd actually be to complete. If you kept your level in Sacred Ruins, then it wouldn't be much of a challenge. Now what's REALLY stupid is how the difficulty description's capped at Super Difficult, from early postgame dungeons to Destiny Tower itself.

So I'm thinking about starting PMD: EoS. What would you guys recommend be the first few Pokemon that I use my stat boosts on? I hear that Jirachi is the best when it comes to recruiting so I might choose it.
>>
>>25050961
Buff up Jirachi's IQ if you plan on recruiting everything. After that, you can worry about other pokemon

For buffing other's IQ, I recommend either Wooper or Quagsire, whichever you like more, and Vespiquen. Wooper's found extremely early on, and has invaluable IQ skills, and a useful ability in Damp which prevents explosions.

Vespiquen gets Sweet Scent+Attack Order, both hit the entire room. In addition, it gets Multitalent, upping the PP of all moves by 5 permanently. It gets a few of the very useful IQ skills Wooper gets, but trades a double hitting default attack for Pierce Hurler. Jirachi already gets that skill, though.
>>
>>25050990
Forgot to mention that Vespiquen gets Collector, which ups the drop rate of treasure chests. Granted it's more useful early on because later on you're drowning in swap items, and seldom get good stuff from random chests. You can link Sweet Scent and Attack order for a linked move bonus, if you want to grind levels

Pidgey is just a Connection Orb mission at the Abundant Pass (Grass Continent). You have to get Bonsly first, though. And to connect with Bonsly, you need to do Togekiss' connection orb mission. Togekiss' mission also gets you Pichu and Happiny

Sometimes it feels as though non-ranged attacks might as well not exist. 90% of enemy encounters take place in hallways where only one Pokemon can engage the enemy face-to-face, and you can't approach foes without getting your shit pushed in. Oh. OH. I was planning on doing some actual, long-term fic, basically a retelling of the story where the protagonist actually has more of a personality than an old potato and the dialogue is actually realistic. Don't get me wrong, I love the story, but some of the portrayals are...subpar. Besides, we're missing a lot of interaction that could happen in the dungeons, and there are a few game mechanics that could use translation into effective story terms (Connection Orb? Really?). Hopefully, it won't suck too bad.

Meanwhile, you were planning on writing something that may or may not be smut. I approve of this, but fortunately they don't interact.

rescuing yourself is always an option, remember that. i pray for you
>>
>>25052711
>Smut
I've only written smut once in my life, and that was because it was of absolute importance in a dead fandom that SOMEONE did it. I'm just making a 5 chapter postgame story where suffering happens but also fluff most of the way until it isn't but then there's just a little more suffering at the end. Recreating the story line is a tricky task that you really need to commit to as to make it not as bland as every other recreation.

That's mainly the same autist going on about it. Which is me.

In Sky, they have both abilities, and VERY good IQ skills. Stuff like double hitting normal attacks, and trap immunity. In Super, they lose those, but make up for it by getting Earth Power, which is essentially Earthquake but better because it doesn't hurt your team.

Best of all, you can get one really early in Sky, as early as Waterfall Cave. I main one in every single game, mainly because it's my favorite

Does having more members in your team split their Exp like in mainline games, or everyone would get the same amount either way? Just wondering because I'm still in story mode and don't want my main characters underleveled later.
>>
>>25053119
not required for anything. you can use it to rescue yourself if you ever die, or rescue someone else in nintendo's inconvenient-ass access ways. but that's really it.

while i'm talking about it, i'm really disappointed that there's no really easy way to save defeated teams over wifi. that's something i always wished i were able to do. help out any randos that might be in trouble, somewhere in the world.
>>

everyone gets the same amount, even teammates you've connected with, but don't have in your adventuring party. it's nice.
>>
>>25053162
Really? I thought that was only the case with a motivated team.
>>
>>25053175
i thought that too at first, but nope, with motivated teams, it just gives the motivated pokemon triple exp if you use them. the sharing exp. mechanic applies to everyone, all the time. you can check for yourself at intervals - teammates you've never used will be levels higher because of the exp. sharing. that's how i figured it out, at least.

Quiver Dance/ Giga Drain/ Teeter Dance/ Energy Ball- Chlorophyll Lilligant

Heatwave/Flame Thrower/ Fire Blast/Bite Charmander with perism looplet

Sunnyday/ Growth/ Solar Beam/ Morning Sun Cherrim

Heatwave hits hard in the sun even against resists. A double quiver dance thanks to chlorophyll means that Lilligant hits like a truck as well. Cherrim is just there to set up the sun,for the healing, and the SpA, but's limited move doesn't help it too much.

Is there any way to fight against perish song?
And what does the excavation looplet do?

>Heal seed, Aromatherapy I think, if so then Refresh
>Allows Gold Sparkles to appear and give you stuff so long as your leader is wearing one

Do gold sparkles not always appear? Does it not just increase the amount of them? Also, will my whole team see it, or only the one wearing the looplet?
>>
>>25053947
Nope, just regular sparkles
Only the one wearing it if they're the leader
>>
>>25053951
Ah, okay, that's lame, but thanks.
I guess I might as well wear it since it gives as many slots as a regular gold looplet but also has that added benefit.

Really? How come that works, I mean it still happens through internet, doesnt it?
I know all online DS features were shut so I was always confused as for why people still post rescuse codes.

Don't worry, I'll try to make the later entries a little less awkward and short. Besides the fluff I'm about to activate I'm very interested in what imma try to do with that serp.

It just works.

Think of it like this, Passwords worked for Red Rescue Team right?

what kind of fanfiction has Mawile been writing and is it to quality laughs
>>
>>25054151
I imagine her the type to secretly be real into some serious anime friendship magical girl bullshit. Considering the kind of stuff that happened during the main storyline, she'd already be desperately inspired to write it. Swirlix would be the only one to know of it because she knows everything.

Not sure how pvp would work in PMD though.
