Just finished making my way through Path of Fallen Leaves for the first and final time. It started out ok but the last few floors kept KOing me. Never would've made it through without a lot of Guide wands. So many damn grimy food traps on the last couple floors, so many fresh apples gone bad. The worst part about it is I thought that was Azelf's dungeon but it turns out I have to do the mission for Uxie first. Is the Well Fed Looplet even worth going through the dungeon for?

Gameplay's pretty weak in the amount of content department, but I thought it was less monotonous than the DS games.
Story's the best in the series due to the characters and how they were used. Has a smaller and more tight-knit cast which really helped me care about them. Also helps that it wasn't so partner centric, so if you don't like him, the story can still be good unlike Sky and especially Super that pretty much require you to like the partner to like the story. Plot is a tad weaker than Sky but better than Super's messy plot.

The first time I made it through that dungeon I had to solo it because I ran into a Monster House on the first floor and a Klefki on it used Magic Room and prevented my teammates from using Reviver Seeds. Those 42 floors alone were very tough, even with a roided pokemon, Hunger and PP were my worst enemies.

Not sure how many people know this yet, but clear Stone Tree Mountain (44F) as soon as possible. The Never Hungries' treasure, the Satiated Looplet, is the reward for clearing it. The Satiated Looplet makes it so your hunger does not deplete when walking around.

I just cleared a monster house in the Lake of Enlightenment usingDelphox's Heat wavein 3 turns, 2HKOing all but a Prinplup. After a Blastoise used Rain Dance.
Wasn't necessary cause I used a luminous orb to find the stairs but I wanted to try it. Best thing I got from it was a Deflect looplet.

In order to see the gold sparkles in a dungeon, you must have the looplet equipped to the 'Mon you're currently controlling. If you are not controlling it, you won't see it or be able to interact with it, even if you know it's there.
Anyone else find it's almost impossible to gauge how strong your attacks will be against a foe? My 4x super-effective STAB nuke can end up doing less than a much less powerful move.
If anyone can make it through the Submerged Cave, I would definitely appreciate it.

I've only ever seen them when breaking walls with a mega or hitting the floors with a mega, or possibly awakened mon, using the basic attack. I don't know what all you can find in them but when I did it earlier I found a couple emera and an Elixer. I'm not 100% sure if an awakened mon can do it too or not
What's your usual method for locating the stairs, /vp/? Going around the perimeter of the floor? Making a zig-zag pattern from top to bottom? Running around at random?

Evolving wasn't a hard choice for me. I like almost every evolution better than it's pre-evolution and don't care about a sleeping animation. Plus the extra STAB and possible new moves are worth it in my opinion. Learning Night Slash sure gives Greninja an advantage over Froakie.

All the demo stuff thats on the net is using the deprecated versions of sdl, so since Im using sdl2 nothing will work, plus you need a 3rd party library to load images, currently Im using lode png, I have yet to display a single image. Its pissing me off.

I have also not used vitamins. The only dungeons left I didn't play are Destiny Tower and the last never hungry dungron. Xerneas with Horn Leech and fairy aura boosted Moonblast, on top of using the extra emeras I find in the dungeon, are what I did. I always had to use Mewtwo as well, since that special attack. Then either Wigglytuff or Darkrai.

So I'm post game now and have fucking motivated Pokemon all the time, but xp values per dungeon seem random. Are there any particularly good places, like a best xp-by-typing list or something?
Also, does anyone ever bother with non attack moves? I always ditch growl and leer and shit and find it more useful for sustainability to just pile up on attacks

There's nothing more reliable than training in Mysterious Geoglypgh, but that dungeon's tough as fuck and requires a Sunny Day user and Heat Wave/Sacred Fire attackers. Your roster gain lots of EXP even without Motivated mons.
It's better just to use Motivated mons to explore random non-boss dungeons casually.

Pure seed and having 255 in most stats helps a lot. I thought that leaving your partners at the stairs and then switching leader would work, but once you steal, you can't switch leaders.

One mon's just going to have to eat shit for you to steal. Place your 3rd mon in the shop, and your 1st ON the stairs beforehand. Steal, and let the 3rd mon die.

-Use the Tactics menu to make one Pokemon stay at the stairs
-Steal shit with the other Pokemon
-Let Kecleon go ham on you, do not use Reviver Seed on the theif
-Have at least a few reviver seeds so the Pokemon at the stairs can survive since three Kecleon spawn there
-Escape by taking the stairs
-Pray that the Kecleon at the shop doesn't use Substitute.
