Most games have enough routes that you aren't really in any danger of running out, but you ARE in danger of running out of decent mons, no dupes basically lets you catch way more good mons in most games as most routes are the same shit mons that you already have and a few rare good ones that you get to keep huting for with a dupes clause

That's what I assumed. I already kinda knew it'd be sorta scummy to just "not encounter" them over and over until one popped up that you wanted, but I wasn't sure if it was better to just avoid them all together and do normal grass encounters only, or what.

Quick rundown of the Elite4 Experience
>Went with Ravana(Darmanitan), Steelix(Poseidon), Chi-You(Crobat), Chronos(Haryiama), Tsukuyomi(Milotic) and Susano'o(Spiritomb). All Lv53
>Elite 4 members were taken down with teamwork. No one down for the count. Faced Steven with a full team of 6
>Lost Susano'o to Claydol. Didn't remember Reflect up, and failed the KO.
>Lost Tsukuyomi to Armaldo. Armaldo endured Surf by the skin of his teeth and killed with X-Scissor. Tsukuyomi was already weakened by having defeated Cradily earlier. Guess I got a bit overconfident
>Mega-Metagross destroyer of worlds came in after Armaldo. Had Chi-You on the field (he cleaned Armaldo). Confuse Ray, managed to give Mega Metagross some damage but fell to a Zen headbutt.

Against my expectations, Mega Metagross was fucking faster but then I got HELLA FUCKING LUCKY and Mega Metagross missed the Giga Impact, allowing me to Flare Blitz its ass into oblivion. that was potentially the most intense fucking champion battle i've ever had. absolutely everything went according to plan, with simon the beedrill managing to flawlessly defeat both exeggutor and alakazam no fucking sweat. we lost netscape the porygon against torrent boosted blastoise, but we came out on top in the end with only 4 deaths total.
Just beat Falkner, his Pidgeotto gave me a bit of a headache, but nothing that Reflect and some potions couldn't resolve.
