What I find interesting is the pattern of the blood. On the back of his hand, there's a strip of blood running horizontally across and then some blood at the fingertips, while it looks like the whole inside of his hand is covered in blood.

The first episode seems to show that there are many similar rooms to that one. In the little chat with chisa and munakata they showed a room with the same kinda desk, chairs, and even chandelier with the only difference being that it had windows. I don't think it's far fetched that a building like this would have many similar rooms.
