An item specifically designed for sec shouldn't be absolutely fucking worthless to sec but an actual robust and useful option for literally anyone else
This is also the only reason I don't like shoulder holsters, if they get into the wrong hands it can be easy to smuggle a gun around because literally fucking nobody is going to be checking you for a holster. That's almost enough for me to think it's a bad addition to the game and the only holsters on station should be for the HoS, detective, and maybe captain. Let officers improve their draw at the firing range maybe, instead of having such an imbalanced item be potentially widely available, or available at all to people that could use it to seriously fuck everything upp.s. shoulder holsters are seriously one of the most robust items in this game

The shoulder holster is one of the most game changing utility items I have had the pleasure of getting my hands on as sec. Using a macro with the holster is the difference between having a quick and reliable draw in a high stress situation and having to drill for hours to get the perfect quick draw when you just use a regular suit storage slot.
To not use it in this way is in part detrimental to how quickly you can respond to a threat, but mostly just incredibly wasteful. May as well just use the suit storage since that's easier.
It would actually be a positive thing if the boot holster didn't use the fucking holster command though, might be worth taking

But really I don't know. Security is perfectly functional without a holster/combat knife for every office so I don't really get why they were added other than people just wanted them for security. I think it started earlier with memes like lights on your taser(which I still want) that got turned into tactical lights for our helmets, which actually was a really great and needed change. But now it seems like sec is getting everything it could possibly want for nothing. We don't have to go that route, it's perfectly fine if security doesn't get everything it needs to get easy valids right off the bat, but it looks like we're going that direction anyway.

1. is it ok if i find a soulstone shard, and then later find a dying clown or some shit, rez him as a spectre and then have him bodyguard me on the asteroid/pull artifacts i can't carry back to a closet on the mining post

5. on the same note i've ran into a black glowing sword once, what does it do, i did not have the opportunity to drag it out of mining outpost since it cannot be belted or bagged and therefore i did not risk holding it in the middle of the station just so i can slip and have it stolen

Yes, xenoarch is pretty crappy. The most fun artifacts are banworthy if you "abuse" them and the others are mundane crap. None of the crew ever really gets to see what you find.
