I'd have preferred Medli to have won myself as despite how cool Darunia is, especially in HW, Medli does more in the mainline games by far and has a neat dungeon.

Are you kidding me?! Honestly not having voice acting in the most recent Zelda games, (SS, HW, etc) seemed very out of place in some ways, Hyrule Warriors especially. Also theres something Voice acting adds that text based dialogue can never do, and that's giving a direct message and tone. Text can be interpreted in so many different ways that an artists message might not be gotten the way the artist intended to the viewer.
And on top of this, it seems like the series is finally getting with the times by adding voice acting. It just adds a whole other level of emotion.

Eh, I prefer a healthy balance of plot and gameplay. But if the game is extremely gameplay centric to the point where theres no story hook, then a game will fail to catch my attention. This is why I love Twilight Princess, and the majority of the other 3D Zelda games, hell even the DS Zelda games capture my attention more than ALBW, simply because it has great cutscenes and choreography. I think BotW (from what we've seen so far) hits this balance of story and gameplay perfectly. Players can either just play the fucking game, or actually go and find out more about the world and story elements if they choose to do so.

Honestly, my biggest problem with the whole idea is that several of the OoT Sages, and Zelda in particular, are either royalty or hold high leadership positions, and the only one of those that's guaranteed to be okay is the frozen-over Zora's Domain, which at least still has its king for now. If the system is not just removing people from their homes and everyone they love, but also depriving nations of leadership in and after times of disaster, something would have to be terribly wrong after all.
