Well you could check the attack of all the enemies you wish to pull into you for the next turn and then do the math to know how much damage you will then take that turn while knowing how much damage you will do to the enemy so you know which units you will need to finish those weakened enemies off next turn while then positioning your units in such a way that you draw out as many of the next wave of enemies into unfavourable positions for you to repeat the process.

What if the visibility inverted on each phase? Your area would be obscured on the Enemy Phase and you get to see your enemies, but they won't know where you are exactly, so they'll carefully move themselves outward.

As I recall, they figured it out in Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. An example might be good. Your Recon unit has 5 tiles of sight in fog, the enemy infantry has 2 and can move 3 tiles.
You place your recon 3 tiles away from the infantry. With unfair fog, the AI sees that recon and the infantry knows to stay the fuck away from the recon because it will lose and the AI will send in a tank (6 tiles of movement, 1 sight) to blow up the recon.
In fair fog, the infantry moves 3 tiles directly into the recon because it doesn't know it's there, whether it clanks and it's halted by a ! or it stops adjacent to it because it reached it's movement limit. THEN the tank comes along and blows it up.
Yes, the end result is the same but in the first case, your recon was theoretically safe because nothing could see it, where in the second case the recon was exposed

He's pretty tanky as a Mountain Priest and can give some staff support if necessary. Merchants are so slow the only person I feel would do well in it is Setsuna or Mozu.
