If you show up later for plot reasons you retreat.
"Retire" is the same as Halo Spartans being "MIA" even when they get dunked into a supernova
The one exception to this is Rinkah, who always retreats because she takes the secrets of iron-working back to the flame tribe so they can be the heroes of the next game.

I actually prefer the localization of Fates BY FAR, when compared to the original. Reading the direct translations, the original seems very, very dry. Characters are less expressive in the direct translation, and jokes are less funny - not to mention certain characters are more insufferable. I’m very, very glad that we got a localization that made the game accessible to western audiences, rather than a simple translation.

The visuals are goofy (mainly the portraits) but the story is engaging. At least to me, anyway. Make sure you pair up all the females before the end of chapter 5, though. Your first two cavs should be benched after chapter one, focus on leveling lovers and Finn.

You should be able to have more music customization in your castle. Once all the DLC is out, the DLC music should be available.
Then you should be able to set a map theme and a battle theme. So your map theme could be A Dark Fall, and when other players fight you, the battle theme becomes You of the Light or something. Or if you chose End of All (any of them), it'd be the map and battle theme.
