She spends day after day reading alone in her room, sometimes coming out to eat dinner at the cafeteria with a variety of other adults, most of them with more severa physical and mental disabilities than herself. At first she felt ashamed being here among people much more hopeless than herself, but gradually she got used to it. She finds her living situation comfortable. There's no one to gawk at her scars. Nobody judges her. Nobody pressures her to be places and do things when she doesn't want to, like at Yamaku. Nobody tell her she really need to get a job, like Lilly. She tried telling Lilly that she always got nervous in job interviews, but Lilly never understood. How could she? Lilly's always been pretty. Perfect. The best at everything. Sometimes Lilly stops by, but not as often as she used to. That's good. Lilly makes Hanako feel weak, ugly, pathetic. She's glad when Lilly's gone, and she can be alone.

She remembers the first kiss she gave him, and the way his hands felt when they wrapped around her waist in a loving embrace. She wishes she hadn't chased him off. She wishes she hadn't gotten angry and paranoid every time she saw him talking to Miki or Emi or Lilly. But she couldn't help it. Hisao was the first ray of hope in her life since the accident. For a brief shining moment she actually felt like she could be a real girl, with a real life, instead of some hideous freak. But she cahsed him away. She scared him. She should have kept her temper in check. She should have trusted Hisao. She never have hit Emi that one time. She wishes she could take that back. But it's too late, far too late. I'm not sure where else to take it but here goes.
When she finished Yamaku she didn't know what to do. Lilly was generous, of course. Lilly went to university and let Hanako share her apartment. She kept on encouraging Hanako to go on job interviews, and agreed to pay Hanako's rent in the mean time. Hanako would apply to things, but since she didn't have any specific skills, she didn't get many interviews. The first time she got called in she dressed up in a nice lady's suit Lilly bought for her, managed to stay on the train all the way to the office, got all the way to the front door, then froze in panic. She couldn't even remember what job she was applying for. She turned and fled and spent the next hour hiding in the toilet in a nearby mall before going back to the apartment. She told Lilly the interview went okay, and Lilly believed her. The next time she got called in she actually managed to sit down for the interview, but she spent the whole time mumbling and staring down at her hands. The interviewer felt her nervousness and tried to calm her but that made her feel worse. She hated being babied and pitied. When the interview finished she barely made it out the door before she started sobbing. She hated being pitied but she hated being pitiful even more. And that's what she was, pitiful. There was no point in denying it.

In time Lilly started pitying her too. No; Lily just stopped hiding it. She'd get terse with Hanako if she went a month without an interview. She'd remind her, less and less gently, that it was costing the Satou family a lot of money for a two-person apartment. Hanako eventually stopped bothering to apply for jobs, and instead would start pretending she had job interviews and spend the afternoon hiding in the public library. Those were good days. She wished they could last forever, but she always had to come home to Lilly. Lilly the pretty, Lilly the perfect, Lilly getting good marks in school and making money on some part-time job. Lilly with the loving family who would support her no matter what. Lilly the lucky. Sometimes she wanted to ball her scarred hand into a fist and give Lilly a black eye, like she'd done to Emi back at Yamaku. But she never did. Sometimes, after an awkward, conversationless dinner with Lilly, she'd go back to her room and punch her pillows, just to get the anger out.

She liked the idea of helping others through medicine, and wanted to do something with the life her parents gave her, especially if she could help those with actual disabilities (unlike herself)
In an office environment, people are respectful and don't give her any shit for her scars. She knows them well and works just fine with them. Some of them bring in their kids, and to them she's "the cool scary fire lady", but to the child of her highschool friends she's just "auntie Hana"
She doesn't have kids or a husband of her own, but the workplace doesn't have any rules about dating, so you never know

The final straw was the boy. Daiichi, he was called, or Dan, back in the States. He was half-Japanese, just like Lilly. They could talk to each other in two languages and share stories about overseas. They were always nice to Hanako when Daiichi came over to the apartment, but she felt like crying every time he looked at her. Not that she liked him especially (in her heart she still ached for Hisao) but she hated seeing Lilly with a boy. She'd been lucky enough already, but now she had sometimes to hold her, kiss her, love her. Sometimes she could ever hear them through the thin walls of the apartment. She'd lay awake at night, listening to them and feeling aroused even as she tried to choke back sobs (not that they would hear her anyway). With Daiichi she couldn't take it anymore. She went to her psychologist. It took a lot of doing, but she got her psychologist to reccomend her to an adult care facility. When she told Lilly she was moving out her friend nodded sadly and put up no fight. Hanako knew she, too, was relieved to have Hanako gone.

So now she's all alone. Sometimes she wonders about Hisao. She wonders if he has a family or children. She wonders if he's happy. She wonders if he ever thinks about her. He wonders if he ever feels anything for her besides regret and pity. As for Hanako, she's okay. She hated the adult care facility at first, but now she feels at home. The nurses are very polite and they all seem to like her, probably because she doesn't have screaming fits or seizures or violent streaks like some of the other patients here. Some of the other residents are nice. There's one girl, Sanae, who she plays chess with. Sanae has severe autism and spends every game babbling to herself, but she's a good chess player and barely notices Hanako is there. Hanako likes Sanae very much.
The facility is on a mountain in the country. Her room is painted peaceful white. There's nothing on the walls. She likes to watch the breeze come in through the window and flutter pale curtains. It almost feels like she's in Yamaku. There's no hope here, not like there was when she was younger, but it is peaceful. No stress, no self-hatred, no being pitiable ever again. Just peace, for the rest of her life.

It's been almost 4 years since I played KS for the first time, and finally I can sy that I started to improve my life.
I started with 'yeah, I'm gonna do it', but nothing was made to improve my life since. Got a gf 3 years ago and things started to get steady instead of downhill, but I had my dificulties and sometimes I re-read some routes to encourage myself to never give up hope. And finally, 6 months ago got a job at a factory, stopped smoking completely four months agonow I'm vaping but slowly decreasing the nicotine intake, and since I've noticed I started to lose weight due the heavy workload at the factory, I'm one week in a exercise table at home to see if I can get some muscle, maybe some weight would come back in
And all of this because of a crippled waifu simulator, and loads of force of will made me who I am. This august I'm moving with my gf to another town since my contract expires in 3 weeks, and that will be the hardest, but hopefully the happiest time of my life

Sex scenes were gratuoitous, I agree. But honestly it's a problem sometimes I found also in the final release (not only in Hana's route), and in really A LOT of other Visual Novels, so considering it was an unfinished work it's not exactly a surprise.
Dunno really, probably it's a whole VN media matter. Putting in a lewd content when it's not needed maybe can grant some audience, but a lot of times it appears too forced to me.
I have to disagree about the mountain hiking scene. I didn't found it pointless in Hanako's opening to Hisao, it was heartwarming and aside some little inconsistencies (i.e. I hardly imagine Hanako wandering into the woods for hours to find that place, considering it's something like 2 hours far from Yamaku) didn't seem out-of-character to me.
It's a scene that I'd gladly played in the final version, if they put it in with a good context.
