It's really not that bad.
In the early days it was constant shitposting at breakneck speed but now things have calmed down. Mods are doing their jobs, we have dedicated rooms(like cafe for non shitposting and discussion/vidya for video game talk), and people only SOMETIMES get really active and hyped up in the general tab. I've met great friends there and don't regret jumping in.

yeah sorry about that, but the hype got me too. I work at the airport near my house, so I've got a bunch of pokestops, and yesterday someone dropped a lure on one of the pokestops so I was catching pokemon left and right.
Honestly part of me wished Pokemon Go had mii integration in it, since I'd rather watch my Mii walking around as a pokemon trainer than this random weak looking trainer.
But I agree the thread slowing down has to do with Pokemon Go.
