Go full quality, leave int/fth at min reqs.
Stay at the lowest level where you can be 5+ and still find matches. The elemental damage scales with physical stats, so there's no need to invest in int/fth.
Basically, they're awful at like pre-+5 because people have a tonne of free flat defense and split damage weapons double-dip into that. Flat defenses scale very little with level, while they gain a tonne of damage per upgrade level, which basically means that even earlygame players have flat defense balanced against endgame weapons, making anything with split damage that isn't fully upgraded absolute trash.
At 40/40 and +5, they actually deal solid damage, and L1s will typically hit players for 300 damage, combo for 600 and so on. After hitting +5, they obviously get progressively weaker the higher level you go, since flat defenses still do scale up (albeit very gradually).
So I guess peak performance would be a level ~80 quality build.

Aside from rolling, which is something you always use anyway what combination would be the most efficient?
I was thinking about a Low req. raw weapon with the minimum INT needed for G.Magic shield.
Pump it up with the needed STR for a black knight shield and the rest goes into VIG and VIT.
Then how about supporting the build with regen? as Regen is obviously the strongest defensive mechanic atm.
Or any other ideas?

yeah I already do that on my STR guy.
I just felt like fiddling with the game now that I have multiple chars.
And maxing out defense sounds nice as I usually play tanks as mains in other games.
