The problem is that, for developers, you get opinions and suggestions from everybody, even retards.
So if you get suggestions from rebbit and follow through on them, you're doing the wrong thing - but you just don't know it until people tell you they're unhappy with the result.
Same thing with features we used to bitch about constantly; we hated them but didn't know how much we would miss them later on. Skills were a love/hate thing where they were largely nonsensical but made Fallout more game-y rather than shoot-y as well as other bits and bobs that were cut.
Time crunches are also a thing, and I think Bethesda underestimated their workload which is why the game feels incredibly unfinished even with DLC.

The Defense gun mod is pretty nice, essentially the 'better' bigger brother of the pipe guns, same caliber options but generally better, requiring higher level crafting skills to get to the best stuff.
If you're frustrated that pipe guns always look like junk, check it out, it keeps the low tech look that feels it could be made in post war workshops, but is a lot more clean and professional.

The armor is from the Wasteland Operator mod, which simply recolors the assault gas mask and railroad armor to have a matching multicam pattern.

The backpack and bag are from the Carry Those Bags mod, which for some reason was taken from nexus but I think it offers a nice bit of variety used in conjunction with some of the other backpack mods. I'm wearing the Napsack and Small Bag from the mod.

Pretty much everybody I know in the northern area voted Leave.
