>what's this about a9lh not having 100% boot rate? what are you talking about
>
>a9lh can only get corrupt if you touch that sector of the nand, either through software or physical damage.
>
>software can't damage it if you're autobooting into luma: luma blocks you (and everything else) from writing to it. the only way you could fuck it up is attempting to write to it with either Gateway (which unblocks the FIRM sectors) or attempt to update a9lh itself

I did update it twice. It was fine before when I had a9lh v1, then I updated to v2 noscreeninit. Got problems, then switched again to v2 screeninit, still got the same problems.

It's weird because it seems like my 3ds gets bricked temporarily, requiring like 5-10 restarts just to get it to boot normally then it's fine for a few boots until it fucks up again. Booting payloads like D9/luma config always works 100% of the time though.

I'm not really. There are just hardly any games that justify a purchase.
That might sound a bit cliché but I actually buy games that I really enjoyed for one reason or another or a new game from a series I really like (Monster Hunter and Pokémon come to my mind).
I bought Senran Kagura and its sequel after playing about 60h each because those games are actually fun. I would've never buy it if not for disabled signature patches.

I've played a lot of games that I liked but wouldn't have paid 50€ or whatever they wanted for. I'd pirate less games if they all cost 20€, but unfortunately Nintendo is retarded when it comes to pricing especially digital pricing.

I honestly use to buy my games until I found out I could pirate them. I have like a collection of 20+ 3ds games I should probably sell. Once I found out I could pirate I just spend the money I would use on 3DS games on clothes and food among other shit

Kinda on topic though, I refuse to believe anyone does the try before you buy shit when they pirate games. Like if you download a torrent and in the readme it says "IF YOU LIKE THE GAME BUY IT"

Like fucking why, the full game is in my hands for free I'm not doing that shit

The scene consists mostly of older people who have actually seen good companies go under because of piracy back in the Amiga days, which is why they encourage people to actually support the developers. It's not as big a deal nowadays, at least not for big companies like EA or Nintendo, though you should still buy games from indie developers you enjoy, because those are actually affected by piracy.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I was a huge nintendo buyfag for many years and probably invested thousands, until they started betraying us doing unethical shit like DLC, p2w free2play games, censoring etc. Nintendo's golden era has ended long ago. They can burn for all I care.
>>
>>147610120
Not really an excuse.
You don't have to believe me but I actually delete games that I don't like after playing for two hours because it's not worth my time and therefore not worth my money, in my opinion. If I liked it enough, I buy it.

>If you really think a game doesn't justify a purchase, you won't be playing it anyway.
Because I know how a game is before playing, right?

Easier installation of GBA games
Faster load times

Less chance of brick
Want to change your SD card? No problem! With A9LH it's as simple as clicking and dragging.
So why wait? Get A9LH now and you'll also get live troubleshooting help from the anons you see here.
So install now.

Yes but it's not like it is now. Look at fire emblem for example. When they start modifying the story and actually removing gameplay elements, that's too far. Compared to before where they censor a little piece of ass of an esper on SNES FF3, the shit they do now is extreme.

You can do it inside Decrypt9(WIP).
Just choose "Content Decryptor" and there, pick "CIA Decryptro (Deep)".

Also if the game is from your region you can simply open the eShop and close it again.

Well install it quick and help me, because I've basically done everything humanly possible at this point and it's killing me
>>

>i dig cakes hard over aurei but i'd really like language emulation
Cakes can region-emulate too, though.
https://github.com/Wolfvak/3ds_injector/
But yeah, corbenik is a pretty solid choice to use.
>>
>>147627945
gimme a sec, i'll look into it in a bit

>>147628037
i already use that, but it's only the "barebones" region free which doesn't fix DLC and shit
having to boot NTR to make DLC work kinda sucks
>>
Is there any hope of EVER getting some exploits on 3.57 Vita, or should I just go ahead and decide to keep this system up to date? I'd like to do remote play and shit already.
>>
>>147628151
It does region-emulation literally like Luma3DS, since it's its code rewritten for patissier.py.
What you are thinking of is mid-kid's 3ds_injector.cake which is different from this.
>>
>>147628232
The only thing deader than the Vita hacking scene is the Vita itself
>>

oh
sweetness, took long enough
i'll grab that as well as corbenik/skeith then

So I'm trying to get GBA VC on my 3ds, but I cannot use 3DNUS to download 0004013800000202 because the program throws an exception. Does anybody have it in cia format?

oh wow this works nice

>>147627945
i'm still trying to figure out how to install it because i'm kinda slow and a little dumb
give me some time, though you've probably figured it out by then
did you try corbenik/locales just in case? also the files don't seem to feature a .txt at the end
>>
>o3ds

Can I play gba games from eshop like Minish Cap?
If yes what I need to do?
>>
>>147630058
>did you try corbenik/locales just in case? also the files don't seem to feature a .txt at the end
It got the better of me, so I took my original Luma .txt formatted language files and just threw them into the Skeith locale folder. When that didn't work, I made a copy of the locale folder and renamed it locales. When that didn't work, I made a Corbenik folder on the root, and copied the locale and locales folder and put them in there. Still didn't work.

Still trying though!

hmm
maybe it's just broken? or did others claim it works for them
once i figured out how to set up things and all i'll see if i can figure out something
>>
>>147630398
Have you tried making a file only having the title ID as its name?
Like, only have a file called "000400000002FF00". No .txt behind it.
That's the way corbenik (skeith probably too) does it.
>>
>>147630546
Others have claimed it works for them. I also checked the option to change my system settings string and that doesn't work either, so it's clearly something on my end that I'm doing wrong if these patches aren't being loaded.
>>
>>147630541
Do I have to install them to sysnand too though?
>>
>>147630706
Yeah, I've tried that too. As a last ditch effort, I'm going to try stable Corbenik and see if it works on that.
>>
If I'm on 11.0 and can use basehaxx, is there any point to doing so?
What does 'userland homebrew' entail?
>>
>>147630943

depends if your nands are linked
>>
>>147631181
Basically the lowest level exploit, letting you run arbitrary code but nothing that permanently goes on the 3DS.
Anything on the Homebrew Channel, in short.
>>
>>147631464
>lowest level
wouldn't it be "highest level"? i mean, low-level stuff usually refers to in-depth modifications and shit doesn't it
>>
>>147629106
Managed to patch it, and installed it on a SysNAND but I still get an error after launching any GBA VC game. Any ideas?
>>
>>147631057
Dumb question but you did enable language emulation in the options, didn't you?
>>
>>147631801
Yup, of course
>>
>>147630398
Corbenik/Skeith doesn't use .txt extensions and the folder is named "locale" instead of "locales". It should be at /skeith/locale/000400000017B200 for skeith, not sure for the stable releases.
>>
>>147631181
Shitty emulators. Yes, there's a massive difference between using them through userland and installing them as .cia's

>>147631950
Having the locale files in skeith/locale/ without the .txt extension was the first thing I tried, and am still trying. I'm on stable Corbenik, I have the locales in corbenik/locale/ without the .txt extensions, and it's still not working for me.
>>
>OG 3DSXL

>have to launch it through fbi or else black screen

are there any emulators that don't suck, specifically snes?
>>
>>147632469
For the Old 3DS? No, enjoy Blargg :^)
>>
>>147632120
What game are you trying the emulation on?
And did you set the correct region of it?
What's your region?
>>
>>147632525
Just as an example

Majora's Mask (USA)
0004000000125500
USA EN

Zelda Musou Hyrule Allstars (Japan)
000400000017D500
USA EN

My 3DS is a Japanese N3DS

On Luma, this would work as intended and let Majora's Mask actually launch, and run my Japanese copy of Hyrule Warriors in English

On Skeith/Corbenik, Majora's Mask will show the Skull Kid in the bottom right corner of the screen, and instead of doing his dancing loading animation, he's completely static until my 3DS spits an error message at me and reboots itself. For Hyrule Warriors, it boots in Japanese instead of English. This was also how Luma reacts if I don't use language emulation in it.

I've also turned on the patch in Corbenik and Skeith that SHOULD patch my system version in the System Settings, but it doesn't do that either, so the problem clearly has nothing to do with the actual language emulation, but with my CFW install itself.

That's how I did it.
>>
>>147634052
Yeah, it's super simple.
/cakes/firmkey.bin -> /skeith/keys/native.key
/cakes/firmware.bin -> /skeith/firmware/native
/cakes/cetk -> /skeith/keys/native.cetk
If you have twl_firmware.bin and agb_firmware.bin (and their respective keys + cetk) do the same with those (agb_firmware.bin -> agb; twl_firmware.bin -> twl and so on)

>>

https://github.com/chaoskagami/skeith

It started off as a dev-only CFW but it's now looking like this is a Cakes replacement but with actual development happening and a completely on-par featureset.
>>
>>147635409
Take a look at the guide linked in the OP. It tells you how to do it. However, you have to keep in mind that you can't use the eShop on the n3DS once you've region-changed (while o3DS can access a region-changed eShop).

>>147635580
There is. It's the nightly build of corbenik.

>>
>>147635093
what is testmenu
>>
>>147637386
I'm from Memezuela, too.
>>
>>147637447
Downgrading to 9.2 is the only risk of a brick, since the 2.1 downgrade happens on the emuNAND, and applications won't let you clone your emuNAND to sysNAND if something went wrong during the 2.1 downgrade.

Yes, you can "technically" brick your system while doing NAND restores. No, you don't need to worry because you have a better shot of winning the lottery than having a NAND restore fuck up without you specifically going out of your way to do it.

>>147637486
native.key needs to be in the skeith/keys folder, and it has to be the 11.0 key.
>>
Hey muh nigs, how do I convert a .gba file to a .cia?? I wanna play Dragon Ball GT on this bitch
>>
>>147637486
If cakes:
Do you have a /cakes/firmkey.bin ?
If corbenik/skeith:
Do you have a /${CFW}/keys/native.key ?
Do you have a /${CFW}/keys/native.cetk ?
Did you try to boot straight into it? Because as of now it's not possible to decrypt the cetk from a9lh, so you either have to do so on a warm reboot or decrypt the cetk yourself.
>>
>>147637773
>and it has to be the 11.0 key.
maybe that's my problem
i'll try again

>>147637964
corbenik/skeith
my cakes loads and runs everything just fine
gonna gather the files again and see if that fixes it
>>
>>147638037
Just reboot from Cakes into corbenik/skeith (go to system settings and change the settings so that it boots into your CFW) and let the native.cetk do the trick. That's easier than always having to find a firmkey.bin since that one varies between NATIVE_FIRMs unlike the cetk which is universal.
>>
hey fags. i have a fat PS3 on latest firmware. how fucked am i if i want to CFW?
>>
>>147638685

you need some downgrading hardware
>>
>>147638774
that already sounds pretty bad
what kind of hardware?
>>
>>147638897

Either a NAND or NOR flasher, depending on the kind of console you have.

I used a NOR flasher on my slim; you must disassemble the console and clip a piece of hardware onto your NOR chip to dump the firmware and then patch it. There's no soldering for that, but I don't know if fats need to solder.
>>
IS MONSTER HUNTER GENERATIONS OUT OR NOT?!
>>
>>147638897
Depends on if you have a NAND or a NOR model. One involved opening your PS3, finding the flash memory, and putting a connector over top of it.

The other requires you to solder 80+ wires directly to the board, with a single slip of the hand resulting in a dead PS3
