It's 2016 and I still haven't completed a STAGE in an NES mega man game. The only mega man game I've ever made progress in is mega man legends 2, but even in that game, there's a certain ruin I can't get past, I've played the game from beginning up to the point now about 5 times , I'm going to retry it this year as well.
What am I doing wrong in these games?

I could probably vouch for Mega Man 2 being the easiest Classic title, as long as you can get your hands on the extra items to help with platforming or skipping certain tricky parts with them.
