I fucking HATE how you have to warp back to Majula/Firelink to do anything in 2 and 3. Because warping is there from the start, you can essentially level up/reinforce/whatever from any bonfire, same as 1, but you have to go through 2 loading screens plus dialogue to do so.
I understand they were trying to go for DeS, but DeS had god-tier level design and warping/leveling was meaningful since archstones were so sparse. You got used to infrequent level-ups since you weren't even able to do so until killing Phalanx.

Did any of the weapons they "fixed" their scaling on have potential for a 40/40 pyro build? I plan on going to ~130 so I have enough stats to spend on str/dex to wield stuff.
So far I've been using a Gargoyle Spear and Witch's Lock. I realize I don't need to use gimmicky weapons and simply infuse something with chaos/dark, suggestions on such weapons are welcome too.
Anyway, I haven't PvP'd yet on this character but the Spear feels a bit too.. "speary" for my taste, I prefer weapons with more variety than only 1 type of move (thrusts in this case). And the Witch's Lock is sort of fun but the WA is just asking to be backstabbed and it has no hyperarmor at any point in the animation it seems so a slight sneeze in my general direction will cancel the super long windup time.

You can access the DLC as soon as Amelia dies.
The early part of the DLC is fairly easy, and can be taken on at this point without much issue. There's a tonne of loot and weapons and content packed into the first area that are worth going in for.
The first boss will likely be too difficult for you at this stage (though it can be worth a try if you like a challenge), but you can access a tonne of fun gear and loot before reaching it, and then just come back later to finish the rest of the dlc while you're stronger.
Don't wait too long, though. While the DLC is harder than the main game's endgame content, endgame gear is still stronger than what the dlc is balanced for and you can ruin it for yourself by coming in with a +10 weapon and steamrolling everything.

The matter boils down to skill at lower levels, anybody can pick up a estoc/dark sword or card captor and be doing a million damage at 120, but at 80 you need to know how to use them or you get punished.

Considering neutered casters, mediocre pyros, and minmaxed quality niggers without attunement are level 80's claim to fame I'd say Card Captor is probably more powerful there.
