Astras in general are versatile as shit. Every one we've seen in Fate so far can be manifested differently in different classes. Brahmastra has been an eye laser, a sword being thrown, a rain of fire and lasers in the case of Kundala, and it's usable as a projectile while under the archer class according to Karna and Rama.
Astras are less about the weapon and more about summoning the power via technique.
