I assume what this means is that demons have died out because the chaos flame is fading, not because there was a war between Lothric and the demons.
I don't know of anywhere that a war is directly mentioned, whereas Quelaag at least has some cut dialogue that mentions you're violating a "pact" by entering demon territory.
The piles of bodies and ballista do suggest more of a conflict than just gradually dying off but I wouldn't say that inherently means there was a war with Lothric, whereas prince Lothric directly mentions being cursed to immortality and rebelling against his parents.

Ditch a lightning weapon, he's almost immune to lightning damage.
Use Dhorys' Gnawing, as he's weak to both dark and bleed. Use a physical weapon instead of a lightning one. If it's buffable, you can buff with either dark blade or Blessed Weapon, or else you can try one of the recently buffed faith-scaling physical weapons like Wolnir's (which is now actually decent). Even if your build isn't optimal for them, a physical weapon will do more damage than a lightning split damage one against him due to his massive lightning defense. ASS can be ideal for this.

It made perfect sense in the context of the game. Anor Londo was the golden capital of the Gods built upon the highest mountain, and countless human civilizations, each worshipping the Gods, built their kingdoms up along the mountainside in Anor Londo's shadow. Hell, you can even see how some of these areas were built to physically connect to one another, like the main gate of New Londo having a bridge that crosses into former-Oolacile.

I would say it's pretty literal. The Small Lothric Banner says "When the High Wall appeared, the path to the Undead Settlement was blocked, and messengers came bearing this banner."
The key word is "appeared" and the key context is that this obviously is something which affects more than just the player.
So at some point the castle wall just kinda showed up outside the settlement and fucked everything up for people trying to move about.

Contrary to popular belief, this doesn't actually beat anything. Blessed offhand + sun princess ring all but negates fire surge chip damage. Sure, you get a lot of pokes if they're trying to pressure you and running right into the spell, but a passive/defensive player is just going to backpedal out of range and roll away when you shoot it. All that time spent poking and not hitting are precious ticks of +5HP they're restoring.
Fire Surge can't really pressure effectively, so it only works well against players that actually cannot afford any regen, or that are stupid enough to keep rushing into you instead of forcing you to come to them.

This here seems to be the best evidence I can find how how the geography in Lothric is laid out.
This is the entrance to Irithyll from Wolnir's bossroom. You can see on the outer edge that there's the clear architecture of the Catacombs in a very old and ruined archway, but a very obviously not-Carthus archway is literally thrust up through it, as though the two areas were physically shoved into one another in an extremely unnatural fashion. The inner-archway, which is quite clearly phasing into the outer one, is very clearly Irithyll architecture and bears the same design as other archways and structures within Irithyll itself.
So yeah, the world is collapsing in on itself, and, as the opening cinematic says, Lothric is the "transitory land where the land's of the Lords of Cinder converge." Given the appearance of the Kiln, I'd suppose that the world is receding back into the Kiln, withdrawing into the fading flame like how the illumination from a dying candle shrinks and shrinks. The Lords of Cinder, being the biggest and strongest remnants of the fire left, are just being drawn in the quickest.

Its now C/E/C str/dex/fth.
Basically they killed the dex scaling, buffed up the strength scaling, and gave it faith scaling equal to its buffed up strength scaling. You can run it on the same sort of 40/40 or 27/40 investment as a quality weapon, just with the secondary stat being fth instead of dex. AR is comparable to Wolf Knight GS but it's stuck with the shitty bastard Sword moveset that has no thrusts, easily parriable rolling attacks and worthless R2s, as well as having reach as poor as the Drakeblood GS.
So basically, while it's now at least decent, it's still less good than quality counterparts. The only thing that makes it unique is the WA, which now at least does damage but is still slow and easy to avoid/interrupt.
It was the biggest buff of all the faith weapons adjusted this patch.

1H Swordspear is very strong. It has the reach of a long spear with the 1H speed of a regular spear and the AR of a glaive. 2H it has the same R1s as a normal glaive but will likely lose trades to most others since it has shitty lightning split damage instead of the ridiculous ultra-weapon tier pure physical AR that every other glaive has.
Note that using glaives is every bit as boring as using spears. You can rely on the fact that your opponent is every bit as bored as you are while you fight, and the fact that they still chose to use a glaive over literally anything else, and thus forced you into using a spear, means that they're likely on the spectrum, and simply enjoy mindlessly repetitive activities because it makes them feel safe.
Autists tend to be good at simple tasks like videogames but are terrible at mindgames, so safe but unpredictable play will ruin most glaive users. You can put them on tilt by throwing out random gestures, as their inability to interpret human communication infuriates them.

Pretty damn easy, you start with Soul Arrow that has 30 casts, then you get another copy of your base weapon pretty early and can buy another 30 soul arrows in the first major area.
You get the binoculars which are your best friend since they count as a weapon and are easy as fuck to use for aiming spells (headshot damage applies to things like soul arrow as well, it can be the difference between 1 shotting and 2 shotting things)
Do keep in mind both Faith and Int are on the "I want this on TOP of a normal build" pure caster builds for Dark (Int/ Faith scaling depending on which is LOWEST)

It feels like the lack of a quick skirmishing spell really leaves faith casters high and dry. Baiting people into sunlight spears, lightning stakes, etc. etc. all requires that they commit into something slow and vulnerable enough for me to actually finish casting before they recover and roll away. Hyperarmor trading doesn't help when it feels like every weapon can just walk into the HA cast, smack me and roll out for free, and when most playstyles seem to revolve around running away and never attacking first.
