I know best man isn't too popular, but I came up with an idea for his "rework" that purely involves changing his useless passive.
My idea thus for for Talon's new passive would be that on kill or assist, Talon would briefly gain invisibility, think like Unevolved Kha'Zix length, and be ghosted like his ult, and the cooldown on his Q is entirely reset.
I feel like this would help out with his tendency to die in teamfights (Though this isn't a problem necessarily) that could be easily countered with a pink ward, but would challenge target selection on the enemy team, since though his Q would be reset, he won't have the mobility to do much, so he won't be reset oriented like Katarina or Akali, and won't be that much of a threat once he gets the reset. His Q is on a pretty low CD anyways, especially with CDR, so it would just help him slug it out in a fight to survive once he got in, plus the fact that he tends to kill multiple people at once, making it so he only gets one "real" q reset.
This would fit with his kit, since he is one with the shadows, and once killed an entire group of assassins at once, which could be accomplished by weaving in and out of visual reality (Or by his AoE, but I think this sounds cooler) and by having the damage to do so once he reappeared (Talon could probably kill an average non-champion assassin with just one Q).
In addition to that, it would also add a layer of outplay ability to his kit, since Talon's only outplay now is dodging one thing with his e, he could effectively 2v1 with his AoE and new passive if played correctly. Although Talon is a fairly simple man in terms of his objective and means of achieving said objective, I think having a bit of outplay ability would be nice.

He's not without weaknesses. For example, while Spinning Axe does a lot of damage to enemies and wins virtually any trade in lane, it doesn't help him take down towers or wave clear at all. It also makes his movements highly telegraphed; on that note, he has no mobility besides Blood Rush, so he requires a lot of peel and protection which doesn't synergize particularly well with his dominant laning phase.
I guess you could find a place for him in a heavy initiation team comp, but he wouldn't be doing anything Miss Fortune or another marksman couldn't do just as well.
You might want to ask a coach or a pro player, though, if you're really interested.

I've always seen it as E first and then settle down your W.
If you slow them, then you have more chances to proc thunderlords (and ignite). Your aggression early game heavily determines how successful midred works. It works, but like most assassins, you can fall off if your early game was not strong enough. Level 2 is a very powerful attempt to cheese the enemy midlaner, with W Q and since (most) people dont get their mobility by that point you can abuse it and do deceptively large damage.
If they hug tower though, you are doing something somewhat right by making sure they are having a bad day.
Thankfully your ult can save you from ganks gone bad or their burst.

The role just attracts some of the tiltiest people in the game.
