I made a strength character just because of its good scaling and earlygame availability. Then I proceeded to use it for the entirety of NG before.
Frostbit is mostly garbo in that it absolutely cannot be built around but if you treat it like bleed-lite then it can be useful in pvp for free damage if you're aggressive enough. It's probably like my second favorite weapon desu, both aesthetically and otherwise. Just fun to swing around.

I know you just asked for the scholar candlestick but here is mini list someone made on reddit I'm sure most people want to see. Kinda garbage they halved the candlestick without buffing the steady chant buff duration or spell base damage if this is correct.
This list is incomplete but I hope this will help bring consensus for later posts.
The dark sword damage decreased to be around the same as other straight swords.
Scholar's candle stick goes from 25% to 12.5%.
Demon fist weight 8 to 5.5.
Several skill weapon buffs have double duration to either 30 seconds or around 35 (consider human error), warcry and steady chant did not receive a duration buff.
Hornet ring damage is still 30% in pve, will need to someone to test it in pvp as I don't have a partner available.
Dagger and mailbreaker 140 critical, most other daggers 120, corvian great knife 115. The dagger that causes posion buildup still has 100 critical.
anri's straight sword took a massive hit in damage reduced, a 40, 40, 40 does not have a higher attack rating than most straight swords.
The weapons that received faith scaling had decreased physical scaling and added faith scaling, no spilt damage was added, faith scaling affects physical damage.
Is the Hollowslayer GS any good? It may just because it's a DS2 weapon, but it feels like it's gonna be a weapon that'll only be good if you know a bunch of tech for it.

The Twinaxes do 400 damage per L1, which is straight up more than most ultra weapon R1s.
If paired greataxes did enough damage over that to be worth existing, they'd be killing people in 1 combo.
However, looking at that right now, it looks to me like the left hand weapon isn't another greataxe. We might get another atypical pair of weapons, especially since the first hit of that L1 looks faster than the R1. Probably something like Mainhand greataxe and offhand curved sword or something. Though, considering the way the offhand is used in slashing motions instead of chopping, and the heft to it, it looks like it ought to be a curved greatsword or a greatsword.

I went back to the first game and used the Dragon Tooth with 40 END and FAP ring. I was able to swing the thing like 7 times and still roll so I kinda miss being able to swing a little more other than swing 3 times for all my stamina or just 2 times and then roll away.

You don't have to concern yourself with humanities because Unkindled are different from Undead somehow. The Abyss is still there, you visit it when you fight Wolnir and it's visibly on the Abyss Watchers armor, it's just not a place you can explore. The Deep is either a synonym for the Abyss or a new concept along with the Angels.

You are right, so that probably means abyss is related to the deep. Also, just checked the wiki and it says upon giving 30 human dregs to Archdeacon, he resurrects and dies immediately. Interesting, but I'm not sure what to make of it.

I just bought the SotFS for PS4 because I was bored with the third game. However, it is disappointing to see only three summon signs during a whole playthrough. Such a shame really. Co-op in the third game felt so boring, was really hoping for DkS 2 to have some some activity.
