I think it's a blessing in more than one way. Aside from stopping the game from turning into a grueling 4vs5 match, it can also surprise the enemy team or even give them some blue balls. I've done both and it honestly depends. On a squishy target like Riven I max q and once I've bought some ad 1 q does 1/3 of her health.
Maxing E isn't bad, reduces the cd and increases the damage the vessel does but it makes you easy to play around. If you max vessel and miss it you gotta wait around until it's off cd because if they fight you while it's down you're a dead man.
Funny thing to do, if the enemy is low health and they've been cursed and they're waaay out of range. While a tentacle is spawning use your ult, the tentacle will slap really really fast and likely kill them. If it doesn't you get another chance with the second tentacle spawn.

the problem with bows is that a retard with a bow is worthless while a retard with a crossbow can still operate it perfectly fine which is the reason they were popular to begin with. you can get a bunch of peasants and give them crossbows which is cheaper and easier than having actual skilled bowmen, but there is a reason why skilled bowmen were one of the most valuable parts about an army. bows are strictly superior, they just require a skillful operator. anybody can use a crossbow.

Longbows are easier to make, more effective in combat, and have better range, but require a good deal of training and practice to use effectively. You can give any chucklehead a crossbow, tell him how to load it, and he's good to go.

Crossbowmen = anybody can be one since it's extremely simple to use. Which one is better? The bow, which is the reason bowmen were still a thing for centuries after the crossbow was invented and the longbow was one of the most dominating and historically significant weapons during the medieval period.

That's one of the strong points about the crossbow (and also one of the points that makes them less safe than bows since bows can't go off without you wanting to). Also one of the reasons they were used at shorter ranges than bows, since they were point and shoot.
Last time I checked bows were also extremely prominent and important in sieges.

It's necessarily faster than drawing a crossbow since the crossbow you just draw it and shoot. Bowmen also required more upper body strength since shooting a bow is pretty heavy work.
Crossbows do take forever to reload, in the time a crossbow reloads an archer can possibly shoot 2 to 4 times.
