You have a much much lower chance at idolizing them though. Even though an event SR is shitter you're guaranteed an idolized SR which is stronger than an unidolized regular SR. With the 50 loveca you could tier for 2 or 3 different SRs, whereas with rolling there's a pretty big chance you end up with 1 SR. Although if the events continue to be like this past one then it may not be as worth it but the Sr per loveca is still better than rolling.
I still scout (sometimes) but mostly in the attribute and group boxes. Regular honor scouting is way too random.

This is true early on, but eventually you've got full teams and extra mid tier/low tier idolized SRs just have no place any longer. It's true that at least they're worth a blue ticket now, but a 10+1 is more efficient in that regard too even with bad luck.
Yeah it's chancier and event idolized SRs are always good if they're cheap enough, but in the long term rolling is the only way to get an edge. Idolization chances can also be helped by picking a trio you like from the years/subunits and then just focusing completely on that.

Since you're just focusing on the second years it's best just to stick to their scout box and just stack gems. Higher chances for the Honk while getting burd and sea as bonuses.

If you think about later on, then it becomes even more clear that tiering is superior. With the introduction of SSRs, idolized SRs won't matter anymore. SRs will only matter as seals, and you get more seals by tiering. You can idolize your non event SR using seals, it's also easier and cheaper than rolling a second one.
Rolling is only better when you get a UR/SSR.

You too. Pity there's no system to let people do some amount of trading, though in a f2p game that'd be pretty fucking to do without getting alt accounts abused like mad.
KLab probably figures that the sticker shop is their answer for us, though I find 3:1 to be a pretty painful ratio when I don't want someone specific, just in a category. It'd be neat if there was a 1:1 or 2:1 gold option that let you just do a "scout a random UR of this character" and 3:1 was for scouting a specific one.

The bad part is I had a chance for the third year scout this event but I decided to skip it since I was tiering for Eli. 3rd year scouting usually happens when I'm tiering for someone so I decide against it.

Did you mean titles? And if so, yes god damn it. Actually titles in general could be used way more, they'd be an easy way for klab to add some extra fun, incentives and bragging rights with zero balance issues to think about. They could have ones for somewhat harder goals, like FCing certain numbers of EX or SH songs or whatever. Or if klab wanted to turn up their wallet harvesting even more they could have titles tied to tiering/placement in events.

Yeah, I think for a while it has been important for klab to add more depth, sure they're lazy and the game is old but at some point the difference vs more modern games becomes truly untenable. But at some point they need to stop going wider and take a bit of time to go deeper with the mechanics they've already got. Goals and titles both gave them a lot of new options to add engagement, challenges, and a bit more community for very minimal effort on their part and without touching on economics at all, but so far they've failed to really do anything with the potential.
I hope they rectify that sooner rather then later, it's the death of games when devs start to get carried away jumping from NEWSHINY to new shiny over and over again without going back and improving core mechanics.
