Gateway blue is the DS card, the gateway package consists of 2 cards. Gateway Red is the 3ds flashcard, gateway blue the DS one (which is basically just a r4 wood). With CFW you can use the GW blue on all firms

We used to download .iso from shady sites then put them on a mem stick then put it in the PSP, but now I literally don't have to move out of my 3DS to get all the games I want

Are you on a9lh or emunand? On a9lh you literally just copy all the files over and you're done. Emunand you have to first use decrypt9 for example to back it up, format a new emunand on your new sd card and then restore the emunand
And yeah, with Luma3ds or any other region free CFW you can play out of region games

Depends on what you brick and when you brick. You write to SysNAND thrice, as long as the first 2 writes go without problem (which the tools make sure they do as good as they can, but user error is still a thing, mind you) you are safe

I'm trying to get gba games in rei 4.1 n3ds, using agb_firm signature patcher and installing patched cia both nand and emunand, then installing gba games in both nand and emunand produce 2 squares in emunand, one with the game and a black colored one, launching the game gives me a error screen and promts me to reboot the system.
