I mean, they don't even have transitional switching from 1 hand to 2 hands, the backstep r1 is always the same as the running r1, most the weapon arts are pretty underwhelming, and then there's the fact that if we actually look at unique movesets there's probably less "weapons" in the game than there were in BB.

It seems to me that you have stopped the hunt, at least for awhile, having killed all of the Old Ones, even supplanting one of them. You kill the Orphan of Kos and release Kos back to the ocean. It's implied that the Hunter's Nightmare is eternal, but without any new hunters going into it...
I mean, don't get me wrong, Yharnam is totally fucked. Hardly anyone left alive at the end, and the entire place completely wrecked even if everyone wasn't either mad or dead by the time you kill the Moon Presence. But I don't get the feeling that, if you've killed the Moon Presence and cleared out the Hunter's Nightmare, the Hunt will spread to the rest of the world.

The way I see it, Pthumeru and Loran went the same way. Consumed by beasts or alien horror. One day someone else will uncover the rotting bulk of sunken Yharnam, their miraculous healing blood, and Byrgenthwerth and the Church's ancient texts about the Great Ones, and some new fool will make contact and we'll be at it again. It might not be the exact same every time, now that the Good Hunter ascended beyond humanity, but I somehow doubt humanity is destined for greatness messing with things they do not understand.
If you let Gehrman free you or succumb to the Moon Presence, things have changed in some way, at least for the city's institutions. You stopped the Mensis ritual, albeit just a tad too late to save anyone in the city, and put a spanner in the works of the Church's research by killing Ebrietas. You killed Rom and delved into the Labyrinths, further killing everything in there.
Does it all matter in the end? Who knows. It does, at least for now.

Ok, I still have problems with this, is the whole game in a "dream reality" created by the old ones, the Yharnam we see is a different one from "real world" I sometimes understand that at the start of the game, with the first blood transfunsion, you are transported to a different Yharnam, one that is in a never ending cycle of hunts and stuff, all so the old one can create a new one old one with some poor human women. The hunter's dream and other nightmares are either seperate dream realities or something like inception, a dream withing a dream.
The ending were you accept Gherman offer, you are released from everthing, returning to the real world and loosing the memories of everthing you lived or at least beliving everthing was just a "bad dream" like the doctor said at the start of the game.

Ludwig is basically the absolutely most monstrous beast in recorded history. He is so far beasterized they don't have medical charts for it. But he also exists within the Hunter's Nightmare and I think it's something to do with the properties of that place (it's an ironic hell where hunters hunt forever mindlessly and bloodstarved beasts dwell in river sod blood), which seems to be a reflection of a much older Yharnam, that allows both the mindless beast and fragment of Ludwig's mind to exist alongside each other.
Notice that he regains his cogency once he notices the sword on his back. That sword was what kept him human for so long, it numbed and blinded him to the chaos and bloodshed of the hunts. The more you resist beasthood, the worse it gets, and clergy always get it worst (which is why Cleric and Amelia are so much more monstrous than regular werewolves). Ludwig was not only denying/ignoring his beasthood, but was an influential member of the Church. He was doomed to become the absolute

Barely, it's distorted and misshapen. The eyes aren't in the same places. The nose is distended. The mouth is rent apart with teeth. He's also his own type, he isn't a wolf, he's a horse. You, the player, gets insiight if he sees crazy beasts and other shit. Ludwig was a hunter for a very long time and may have explored the chalice dungeons and gathered even more insight through that. Even Papa G needs to cover his eyes to not get spooked (probably) and he is just a more or less standard hunter.

Well, I'm gonna say that maybe the reason Ludwig is so different to other beats in that he could partialy regain his humanity is that he had some kin fuckery going on plus the beatly stuff.
We see enemies like the byrgewerth scholar mosquitos, and the pigs in Nightmare of Mensis who grew a fuck-ton of eyes on their head, so maybe the reason ludwig could fight the beasthood for so long is because he actually grew eyes on the inside, maybe because of his closeness and the influence of the Holy Moonlight Sword, but it poped open like a zit the moment his beasthood started to take over.
We know beasthood is the polar opposite of kinhood, as stupidity is the opposite of knowledge (the more insight, or knowledge you have, the less you can resist going crazy with frenzy. While the less insight, the more your beasthood increases and the less knowledge can hurt you. Look at Djura's set, it's the one that gives you the most protecrion against frenzy, and it specifies that it belonged to a foolish person). So maybe it represents Ludwig's struggle between a mindless beast and whatever the sword was guiding him towards.
However, feel free to disregard everything as juts said because it is all speculation.
