Steamspy has trouble estimating low sales games accurately, but it's giving 600 ~ 3600 roughly, with 2100 estimated. That's over twice as much as Labyrinth of Grisaia, but still not a good result. It's probably on average for a VN release these days, but for something that required original development work it's probably not likely to make back it's cost.
They've really shot themselves in the foot with their releases though. Both Grisaia and Purino party launched just a day before the steam summer sale, which means they've basically forfeit their store visibility. They also randomly put out Leisure of Grisaia, which while not awful, probably makes people less likely to react to a real Grisaia game popping up on steam.
On a random note, the Purino Party translation (if it's a translation) is actually really solid... there's just not much there to justify reading.

The a big distinction between "EOPs" and "JOPs", anyway, is that it seems there's infinite EOPs who get stuck up on by all means mediocre moege and spend years in despair over not being able to read them, whereas JOPs just read'm and react with utter dispassion since all these beloved games tend to be mediocre in truth, the EOPs just being led on by pretty art. Well, you could say that with how many moege there are JOPs end up finding little distinction between them. I can't really say much on the JOP side because my knowledge of nihongo is rudimentary at best and I have no character knowledge, but I'd think that in the end there ends up being so many moege that you'd have exhausted most of the possibilities in the first place.
I'm picky as fuck about some of my reads and I've already started logging things that probably will never get translated or are in the process of being translated. Another point is that eventually you end up wanting something more than a cute romance. Which is all a moege really is, and if there's nothing else drawing you in why the hell would you read it?

Some of the things in grisaia are pretty interesting. The quirks of Sachi and Michiru are nice. Amane, Makina, and Yumiko though scream "Its been done before", and while Yuuji does have some fairly interesting things, I honestly feel he's split between the tragic protag and your ordinary one. I like my tragic heroes because Hamlet hooked me on that shit but when you add in the shit "Clueless as a fucking brick" and "No humor" it just falls flat. I'm reading through it fully anyways because its worth a try at least in my opinion.
That's probably why EOPs want more moeges translated because the ones we have right now aren't exactly interesting, and while JOPs have access to all they really could care less on them.

Moege are pretty much universally vehicles of comedy as well, at the very least there's some thick SOL elements. A moege that's literally just shallow, cutesy romance is insufferable. If a VN has nothing to support it but romance, it better be engaging romance.
Either way, the real problem JOP face that EOP do not is the problem of writing. If a VN is translated, it's probably going to be at least somewhat good, since someone went out of their way to TL it. JOPs on the other hand have everything, including the shit, which is a real problem. For example, check this game out. https://vndb.org/v18141 . The art may look nice, but the writing is so fucking awful everyone I know who's read it got so sick in the heart and mind they couldn't finish. So though there are more moege available a JOP must be especially vigilant.

As far as I know it's not a good game. It kinda depends on the person, but a lot of people don't like the routes, and enough don't like it at all. You'd think it's about trains and scenery porn or something, but it's a lot of random talk about technical details, money, economics, politics and shit. And not particularly interesting or for a major story. It's slice of life alright.

All the extra stuff is easy to get to if you just change a couple decisions.
Oh and make sure to re-do Asuka's route and chose the other option when she asks Yamato if he thinks that she's attractive to get a different h-scene post credits.
The scene change might be to do with the options you pick throughout the route but changing that one decision did it for me,

I don't think losing in all the school beach challenges changes anything about Benkei's ending/dialogue compared to winning every one.
