Levels adds special abilities/effects that can proc to tools and armor
Buffed Tools adds 1-4 modifiers that can be either positive or negative, such as mining speed and damage
Buffed Tools and Levels don't quite play nicely together at the moment though.
Tool Utilities adds different upgrades that can be applied, such as swords hitting in an AOE, or picks being able to mine a 3x1 then 3x3, and place torches. Don't use the AOE upgrade on slashblades - tends to crash the game.
The 7 sharpness enchants is a bug from the HxC enchanter that's just been patched out in the latest version (I think)

I'll tell you what I told the guy in the last thread: just fucking try it. It's a fairly unobtrusive mod that has almost no necessary worldgen (aside from the basic Botania flowers which can be grown from scratch), it doesn't mess with enchantment or biome IDs and even comes with in-game documentation (easily the best in-game manual since Thaumcraft).
My point being, if you don't like it or think it makes your life too easy, fucking uninstall it and move on with your life. Hotswapping Botania mid-playthrough won't effect your world at all. Like AT ALL. Zero risk. No idea why the sperglords are out in force recently. Haven't seen Shitania posting like this since early 2015.

If you enjoy making vanilla redstone contraptions at all, you'll probably enjoy Botania, since its power gen pretty much revolves around convoluted redstone automation setups. It's probably my favorite and least favorite thing about the mod, since while it is satisfying to complete a good mana gen setup, it always looks like a complete aesthetic abortion when you're done.
It does add some really nice functional items and blocks also.

I don't use many unknown mods but salty mod is pretty good. It adds salt ore to the world which drops salt. you can break down the salt into pinches and craft it with food for increased saturation. It also adds decorative blocks, salt lakes, salt crystals you can grow, a boiler, mineral mud armor, and more. The textures are aesthetic as fuck.

What is a good lowish tech storage mod? I'm playing FTB Infinity 1.7.10 and AE2 is a whole thing and I can't find ANY charged certus... I'm new to the whole tech mods side, I usually only play around with low tech like grinders and ore doublers and then a buncha magic mods but it's been a while....

Storage Drawers is the lowest of tech storage mods. Combined with Ender I/O, you can create an the equivalent of an AE system (Inventory Panel) without wasting time on crystals or chasing meteors.
