second life does not suppor dual quaternion rigging so such deformations are normal.
Not all animations will work perfectly with the kemono because it has slightly different bone positions for the shoulders, this however is true for each and every avatar. Animations are made for one specific skeleton and any deviation from that skeleton (for example by changing shape on a default SL avatar) will also make the animation less accurate.
The best you can do is find animations that don't clip, no avatar will work with all animations.

In some cases it's kind of a slippery slope thing. You buy an anime avatar, but you end up using hair meant for a realistic, non-anime avatar... then you realize there's not a whole lot of quality clothing for anime avatars, so you start dressing your avatar in realistically-textured clothing... and then your cartoony anime skin doesn't fit with the textures of anything else you're wearing, so you end up going for something more realistic.
Alternately, some people go realistic from the start to fit in with the rest of SL, but still prefer anime proportions, so they end up using an anime head or whatever.
SL's a jumble of different content made by different people, so conflicting aesthetics are to be expected.
