It'll look good again in 10 years, but yeah, things are pretty shit. The wheels or progress are painfully slow, but they do turn. The old civic offices (now the new bus exchange), the treehouse bar, manchester/gloucester carpark (pic related), the BNZ building, R&R sport on colombo, 137 Hereford (where otautahi used to be), 139 Lichfield, all of these are sites I've worked on that are now gone (except the BNZ building, but it's not far off now that the asbestos is mostly gone). It does seem slow, but looking back, a shitload has been done, and while the demos have slowed down a lot, they'll eventually all get knocked down or restored. One day there won't be shipping containers holding up the fronts of buildings, but not today.
