A lot of it was actually knowledge he had picked up from analyzing old sprites from other games, mostly in regards to how sprites need to be placed onscreen.
He was trying to tell the animator how important it was to keep the center of movement aligned with the centerpoint, because otherwise the animation can get wacky and slide too far from the hitboxes (like we saw happen in shit like Beasts' Fury).
But I agree that this isn't the kind of stuff that he should need to explain to one of their contractors for the first time. I assumed there must have been a primer of some kind for all of the animators at least.

Both of them are good characters to learn. Dekillsage, one of the best SG players, has a strong Point-Beowulf team, but both he and SonicFox play good Filias too. Some people also run Solo Beowulf with deadly efficiency.
It really depends on which playstyle you prefer. But really, you should probably just throw them on a team together and figure out how they work as a duo.

Parts of those are pretty practical, but don't worry about ending on Super every time.
#1 is a good finisher string, you can actually do that AFTER doing a string like #2 (using an OTG) to make a longer combo that ends with Dynamo. Most combos in the game are built from sticking these kinds of "chunks" together
#3 is a simple classic, but if it won't kill, it's usually best to do it when you're close to a corner (so you can OTG afterwards), or if you have 2-Meters so you can DHC into your next character's Super.
#4 is no good, you're better off going for an OTG combo after merry-go-rilla, since it'll give you more options
for #5 the only true starter is raw s.MP if it puts them in stumble state, but keep in mind that for most moves you can't combo or blockstring into a command grab super, so if you do the Showstopper too fast while the enemy is in blockstun or hitstun, (except raw s.MP stumble on hit) it'll just whiff. You gotta give it a moment and take the chance that the enemy isn't going to jump or do something else that beats the grab.

Yeah, I was pretty sure #4 wouldn't work anyway, but was never crazy enough to try it. You CAN followup with c.LK though, guaranteed OTG. So that means you can actually do string #1 after Merry and do some more damage.
Once you get these chunks down, you can expand them with knowledge you pick up from other places. If it helps, you can think of a lot of combos in the game as just alternating variations of #2 and #1, That's basically:
Ground Chain to Launcher->Air Chain->OTG/Restand->Ground Chain->Special/Super
That's usually what it takes to almost fill up Undizzy. Long combos aren't always the most optimal either, which is why you see Pros go for resets in the middle a lot. The more you know about how combos work tho, the better you'll understand where players can insert their mixups, and sometimes you can anticipate em early.

Peter said on FB that they're working on having the campaign pledge upgrades system ready using BackerKit, but once the BackerKit goes up they're going to retire the NPC tier. Probably because it's not going to be offered as an upgrade option.
He said this was going to happen "fairly soon" and they were going to give it like a week or 2 week notice, so that means it might only be a few months left for anyone interested in getting that tier.

Bought Skullgirls during the Summer Sale and got hooked into it right away?
Any characters easy for me to learn some combos? I love Ms Fortune and Parasoul but their combos are a tack too hard to land.

Fukua is fine on my book, tried her on practice and story mode and I hate fighting against Filia who starts off with five bars and juggles me around, even if I reaction-shot and block.

There's a trick to fighting the Filia, if you continue to use HK platonic drillationship, she gets stunned enough that you can continue and continue to drill and eventually it will chip her to death
