Yeah, for non-technique attacks and non-weak element techniques. I always thought weak techniques got the bonus right away unconditionally.
That's for Weak Stance, EWH will always trigger no matter what, the only condition needed is using a weak element, or at least so I thought.

The two satk affixes people use nowadays are bayari soul and act the soul. Bayari drops from the ultimate version of Rockbear in Ultimate Naberius, or currently in the Sanctum Limited Quest. It gives 35 satk, 5 dex, and 3pp. Act the soul you get from mixing Toh'oh soul (which drops from the bosses in Tokyo along with Yamato) and the the soul of one of the free field bosses.

The pet "looks" an "doesn't fit the universe" has nothing to do with how the class actually functions.
It's the most interesting pet based/summoner class I've ever played. It has cool pet leveling system and candy box system. It's really well done and emphasis the pet - something other game devs severely miss the mark on when they design a summoner/pet class.

It's so well designed at being a class where you kill things with a pet. I've never played a class so good at being that, a class that relies 100% on it's pet to do things and has to command all it's attacks by itself.
Most games the pet is just another DOT that you occasionally press buttons with(usually only 1) and don't really control and isn't the entire design of your class.
