I think that plays into the difference between "Strict" and "Hard" that Wildstar's #HARDCORE image revolvedaround.
There are very few mechanics in Wildstar's raids that are overly complex and/or actually difficult to deal with.
The "difficulty" comes from the fact that Wildstar is very strict on a group's ability to handle those mechanics.
Most mechanics will either leave the player in a critical situation, outright kill the player, put the entire raid in a critical situation, or immediately wipe the raid when that mechanic is fucked up, there's just very few bits of red you can stand in and be okay.
The fact that there's no way to battle rez players also means these fuck ups are more impactful since there's a point where a player's fuck up can cause the raid to permanently lose power on a pull.
A healer can heal you all day, but once you're dead it's a 19 man or less attempt until it's over.
Basically the mechanics aren't any harder than other MMOs, you just don't get as many second chances.

a: constant squares you need to dodge always and forever
b: purges that you need to dodge probably once every twenty, thirty seconds

d: upload/download rings, but only at the very end of the fight
that's just a lot more shit at any given moment that you need to move for because unlike, say, wow, you're expected to never stop moving(unless you're an esper sometimes). obviously SD is sort of an extreme case, but even kuralak has constant shit dropping on top of you.

Shift + right click the shoulders, edit runes,

You Control + Right Click the item, and a little menu will pop up. Click "Edit Runes" and that'll let you put in runes.

Shift right click the item, at least that's what I do, and select 'Edit Runes'. Click the slot, click the rune, and click add.
