Heres a quick guide on tips for prepping as xenoarch, I'll do one on good technique for digging smalls later, probably. Pic related is good for hunting larges.

AI enemies that deal anything other than burn are fully 100% incapable of killing a diona, assuming the diona is carrying a light source. But they take 6.5x burn damage, so one good laser hit can crit them. But yes, they're absurdly strong against asteroid mobs. I routinely pickaxe goliaths to death as a diona and come out unscathed. Once I pickaxed two goliaths and a hivelord to death at the same time, though I didn't exactly come out unscathed.
Dionae do get an unarmed punch bonus, but it's not massive. I don't remember exactly what it is, but it's substantially less than the catbeast punch bonus.

I've stolen so many ideas from other people over my time here, spectating people and finding out all these neat tricks. I want to find a better space, slightly bigger and more customisable for the bar, but the vacant office is real convenient, no one ever uses it for anything and it's a really good size. Sure, I cut off a tiny bit of maint, but there's bypasses around it, designed it specially with that in mind. I dislike the abandoned bar because of how out-of-the-way it is. Pretty much everyone passes by arrivals when they join, and it's in a location where you're really unlikely to get bombed or something. I've considered re-arranged and re-purposing the common area with the clothe vendors, but that might piss some people off.

I've done that before a few times. When I've played my mechanic character, her name completely slips by me right now I think it starts with V. Complete with advanced scanners, sleepers and even a mancrowave. It was really fun to do, but it takes so much time. In those fights, around 15-20 marines are super unrobust and cannot kill a single xeno. The remaining 20 have to man up and fight even harder to kill that which their brothers could not.
Not to mention late game once you get hit once you're almost guaranteed dead or captured, where t3 xenos soak up bullets from 5 marines easy since shitters already died with all the ap mags
