This plays exactly the same except that every wave was the same. Protect the NPCs while killing bosses. Bosses that have no challenge and at a certain point the zone becomes bullshit randomness killing NPCs.
Though as you said reward is an insane driving point to playing said game mode. As far as I can tell why bother with any of it when you can just sit in CMM? You kill far more bosses.
The important point is to enjoy the game for the month of life left in it.

We made missions reward XP based on your level, not the 'expected level you should be at', and if we didn't make any changes, you'd have been able to skyrocket to 60 even faster than you are currently (which is already way faster than we like). It's absurd that the quest turns in at any level. It's poor design that sets up new users to fail and that was the entire point of the revamp, so it's more streamlined leveling process. Instead you can just jump to malekith at level 1 without having an issue.

Literally all they have to do: increase Travel powers to 800~1000 speed to match Dash (1250 speed on dash, approx. 850 during sustained movement), and then remove all spirit cost on Movement powers. It'd probably be okay removing it entirely on all Movement powers, including attack ones, since Spirit in this game is a fucking joke and doesn't make any sense anyways. They could also do with standardizing the Dash/Roll/Charge powers so that they either all do damage and give move/aspd buff, or none of them do.

Depends on the TU, who is using the TU, and a few other things. Personally I just keep ones that have benefits to all three defense types or all three offense types (preferably with at least 2.0%) and a decent cosmic bonus (non-away). Most TUs rely on their Special Powers for damage, not their Default Powers, so if you want an affix that benefits the TU, that's it. The Critical Damage and Critical Hit Rating is okay, but again, personally I look at gear that benefits me, not the TU.

IIRC, their excuse is that 1k would be breaking past the speed of most toasters to load up maps (same reason why maps fail to load sometimes when you spam dash too fast). But if they honestly actually cared about performance, then they would've either deleted doom already or made his summons non-viewable by other players instead of doing something like a sub-1k speed travel power w/c barely anyone uses

New players don't have access to malekith. It's already "streamlined" because the locations past their storyline are locked. There's hardly a dps increase and you never die, so why would anyone go back a chapter or patrol to grind to catch up? If I were an ignorant user of MH I simply wouldn't and continue treading on only then to be confused why am I only level 40 and have done the entire story.
No one new is going to go "Oh, this zone is out of my level so I better not turn in the quest!" when they have no troubles with the zone and have it completed.

Farthest you can go to skip is within chapter. You need to actually do quests/storyline to skip to next chapters. Still irrelevant for new players. You're acting like they'll just skip to ch9 at lvl 1 then expect newbies to be disappointed when they don't reach 60 out of doing just that. Dashes are significantly easier on both server side communication and player side gpu. They have a set start, duration, and end, with a limited number of other objects the computer has to track interaction on because of that. and even with the Superior Kung Fu Warrior Reflexes of your average mugga, no human can actually spam them fast enough to really overwhelm a computer.
It's the same reason they don't want to do a super speedster, and same reason every. single. other. super hero. mmo. ever. made. has capped travel speed. Even DCUO whose travel powers feel amazing mostly relies on tricks and visual fake outs to make them feel faster than they really are.

Communication wise the same amount of bandwidth would be use in the end. I'd even argue that it's better for the server since you're requesting less information over time just in 'bigger' chunks. ie rather than requesting information over 10 steps, it's now half that, but in the end since you're still present in the server you're still requesting information. Now I don't know how their netcode for the game, but I'd imagine it has some spatial partition such as an octtree where grabbing the objects nearby isn't as complicated as you think. Check what you collide with check the tree's box range, send information. Updating it once per tick is superior than iterating through all objects to see what's near by.
The major problem is it's not a predetermined skill as you said. The server has to guess on what actions you've taken which it'll probably interpolate, which makes sense. But you act like this is a big deal, when in reality it's not. The server will be off occasional when you start making major jukes, but it's not like you traveled multiple screens worth across, unless I suppose you're playing at 800x600 causing the server to send you wrong information. Though I do wonder how many screens it'd be with 1000 speed.

But people can use it for leveling. It's not dead, the absurd powercreep you get from uniques/omegles is more contained and it's less exp which people will cry about. Though gaz will say "Exp has historically been overtuned." then everyone will accept it

Well, if it's that easy someone is bound to come up with a solution at some point. Meanwhile there isn't an mmo out there that isn't still dealing with the same thing. 7 years later and WoW is still capping flight speed at 310%, a full 10 minutes to fly across Pandaria. Because they think hitting auto-run then alt-tabbing and watching a youtube video is immersive and compelling gameplay? No. Say what you will about Blizzard in general, half the methods and solutions in mmos either came from WoW directly or they stole a good idea from another game and actually made it work. If they could slap their dicks on the counter and be like, "Okay, you want to go fast? New flight speed is so fast even the kinds of people who still play WoW wouldn't be able to fap before you cross the continent. That's right, 30 seconds to go around the world." You can bet they would, just to one-up whatever the 'sure fire WoW-killer' that's going to go F2P within a year and drop to sub-50k players immediately after is this year.

cosmic still offers double loot(unless they go through with making it only midtown from now on and removing cosmic midtown thanks to dcl).
only shitty events are omega and odin but that's only for vets, if your still new to mid player every event is good.
