I maxed out my relationship with her then chapter 3 came around the corner...
I like to believe fan canon trumps canon in all cases, Mikan wouldn't have done that she is best girl. When I read her execution, I cried, it's called "itainoitaino(other Japanese)". Itai translates to "it hurts" in Japanese, imagine Mikan, the most innocent girl and the sweetest girl I've ever met (I was bullied in school by girls) saying "it hurts", I couldn't bear it. I never got past chapter 4, I didn't want to play anymore. I'm glad she is alive and hopefully she will (always) be best girl in danganronpa 3

As other anons have stated, Kyoko is most likely going to be the DR1 survivor that gets killed off. Her death would make sense with the narrative since the traitor wouldn't want to keep the SHSL Detective around to figure out their identity so soon and it makes sense with the shock value since a good amount of people would not expect a big name like Kyoko Kirigiri being killed off just like that or even dying at all.

The only true happiness we get from the ending is that the forces of despair is finally been ended somewhat and the DR3 survivors go out to rebuild the world and their lives.

since you bring that up, it reminds me another reason of why Junko did it in my mind. It seems like the thing she'd do to leave one person alive just to tell the tale AND factor it into her Ryoko scheme.
Either way it's all speculation, it's hard to understand Izuru's motivations. That's what I want to see most out of the anime, his relationship with Junko.
To me it has never made 100% sense. He's an Ultimate Despair, so he's probably obsessed with her like the rest. But he hates her, as seen by the ending in AE. That's fine, Nagito also has a weird love/hate thing with her. He's the "mastermind" behind the Junko plan in DR2, so maybe he's really her slave like everybody else. Or maybe he predicted the ending and he wanted to go back to being Hajime for some reason. But why not just destroy the Junko AI and do the NWP for real and spare the lives of people lost to the killing game? Did he do it just for petty revenge, to see the look on Junko's face when she lost? If that's what happened, does Hajime know that's what Izuru did?

the thing that always interested me the most about Izuru is that Junko says, I'm not sure if it's DR2 or DR0 she says it but I know 100% that she said it, that it was easy getting Izuru to fall into despair. That introduces several possibilities about both of them that I'm not going to get into right now.
Either way, the Izuru thing? That's what I'm most interested in. That's the last frontier of the HPA storyline, the thing that has been left relatively unexplored.

She could be wrong, though. I remember in the last chapter of DR0 Mukuro asks Junko why she doesn't just give Izuru to the reserve course students, and Junko says that she wants to fan their fury even more, not satiate it. But that's awfully convenient for Izuru, no?
And Junko loses in DR2, in that she got an outcome she wasn't okay with ala DR1. And she had Hajime to thank for that. But if Izuru predicted it, it'd be kinda thanks to him, wouldn't it?
Of course you could go the opposite direction and say she was right all along. I think it'd be just as narratively consistent to say that Hajime is stronger when he's not Izuru, that Izuru is just a manufactured paper tiger created in a lab and he buckles when introduced to Junko, true despair.

I like Chiaki but I disagree she is perfect, her flaws mainly are that she cant really feel, only emote them. She is programmed to act human but not be human. Which is a typical trait among-st AI is that they don't value themselves and always offer to take one for the team without hesitation.
Her overall flaw is that she isn't even real and I think that is a real good flaw to have.
