Frost Pillar and Snow Rolling have terrible up time. Any other content in the game, dungeons, grinding, farming, involves pulling medium sized or small groups of mobs in quick succession. Cryo3 is terrible for that.
The only reason why people cookiecutter Cryo3 is because ET involves you fighting 50 mobs at once and Frost Pillar can grab most of them and freeze them while they come to you.

No taunt guarantees mobs stay stuck in one location. Swashbuckling doesn't even, and if a swordsman doesn't put the effort into placement then shit stays scattered about. Every other taunt is a pseudo, including Pyro's flare and the flag. Frost Pillar pulling everything into exactly one spot without ranged mobs just shooting you from away from the rest of the pull gives a ton of freedom when pulling.

Are you serious? Frost pillar has a huge pull and it freezes mobs, it's extremely helpful while grinding. Not to mention the cooldown synergize well with Pass

Not even him, but I have been doing exactly that. The duration of a level 5 Frost Pillar is 10 seconds, with a cooldown of 49s. With Audra, you have a level 7 Frost Pillar, while you Snow Rolling when it's down. You have few times where you can't pull everything into one spot for an Elementalist's Frost Cloud, or even Krivis's Zaibas to hit them all

Cryo C3s don't need to damage control. The Subzero Shield nerf, which doesn't even apply to our version until they actually bring it over, doesn't magically hinder PvE, it only hurts them for PvP. The difference is that a Dragooncuck uses Spear Lunge and the Fencer gets free bonus damage as well because it's a debuff, not a buff.
The Fencer uses prep and the Dragoon can only watch his waifu getting assrammed by the superior Fencer thrusting skills.
