The only other use I can think of is synthesis, which you'll want as many SRs and above as you can get. RRs are passable, but the rest are worthless for synthesis. You can keep the Ns for gifting, but that's about it.

I hate that too, it can get confusing. In FD all tabs are there in order, no disappearing. So basically all games should've also been in a 1-4(/5) tab layout at the top by their names imo.
Speaking of AB, it's kinda lame the girls don't have as much career/hobby clothing as the boys get. Students can be fire frighters, film crew, painters, sculptors, hairdressers, manga artist, delivery men, and I'm forgetting some more. Girls share with the boys generic jobs like police, nurses, waiters, and day care. The clothing shop assistant was one of the more interesting career outfits, and they also shoved too many good careers into that one MCC gacha. They could've had a whole event or gacha about florists for example.

The next in a series of /mkg/ fashion contests has finally arrived, with categories for Moe Can Change!, Animal Boyfriend, and Dream Girlfriend. The theme of this contest is free-items only. These are the rules:
1. You can only use items that are bought with the standard in-game currency of the game or games you are entering entrants from i.e. Moen for MCC, K for AB, and Shells for DG.
2. Those items must not be limited in availability. Items that can be bought with the standard currency but are available for only limited times do not recur regularly are forbidden.
3. However, items that are available by chance (e.g. free gacha) or are available on a consistent recurring basis (e.g. weekly limited shops) are allowed.
4. The only exceptions are if permanent parts of the entrant's look requires a limited or non-free item. Please interpret this reasonably.

Well yes, I figured people would get from the post that AB has those clothings more easily attainable via events and more fair gachas, plus they still have more types of careers total. The MCC florist I mentioned for example was in the career gacha, but could've been it's own theme. Other interesting jobs I remember for students is book seller/librarian, janitor, father, butcher, old fashioned reporter. I don't think the rules around limited items are very helpful. The logic seems to be that things that are limited that will never reappear (and therefore become available again for newer players) shouldn't be used, but with the exception of Kanna's Shop, all the other games have never had any repeated items, even for shops that open on a weekly basis. In AB's Assorted Shop, or DG's Limited Shop other than the normally available items, there has never been returning items once they've been removed.
They simply don't work like MCC does, and that means the item pool is pretty harshly restricted for the contest. For AB it's less of an issue, but looking at DG you can see why this is a pretty big problem. The only items available for shells other than the non-limited weekly shop items are the Free Gacha and the Dream Box items. There's hardly enough to make an outfit, let alone a good one.
I get most of the entries are going to be for MCC since that's the most popular game, but the restrictions for this don't really have much effect on MCC while harshly restricting the other games' entries. Has there ever even been limited items for moen outside of Kanna's Shop other than the Assorted Shop? And that's hardly had very many items to begin with, so I don't get what the "no limited" rule is really helping make more fair with in any game. It doesn't have much effect on MCC, but as I mentioned the other games already won't have a lot of participation for them, and these rules for limited items aren't very fair to that already small number of people.

When I proposed the idea I just thought it would be neat to have a contest where you could buy the winner's outfit from the winner to give them CAN, and/or to get a version of that outfit yourself. I think AB has a similar system, but that's as far as I thought it through. As far as I know, it wouldn't work for DG at all.

I was not committed to my girls or had any plan or solid idea for them in the first year so I just went along with whatever I felt like.
For Kanamatic I originally was going for a sweet and clingy character but I discovered I despised the Sweet type and I just decided to nuke her entire character, giving her a makeover with jet black hair and tsurime eyes, putting glasses on her, and resetting her type to Default (pretty much pic related). Later I discovered the Neat type and ended up liking it and I also decided I liked her more with crimson eyes than blue eyes.
For Lillian she was originally supposed to be a foil to Kana and they were doing some kind of manzai routine for a while until I made Kana Neat, then I decided to make Lillian go for a more sexy look and changed her to pic related while planning to change her to green cheeky eyes (the current ones) after reaching the required level. Then I decided her hair looked unruly with some outfits and gave her an "alternate" short hairstyle which ended up sticking.
As for Chiffon she was originally supposed to be a hyper genki loli but I found out I liked Dominant more for her. Nikolett ended up being the genki girl.
