Finished editing and now rendering last night's finale. It's ugly as fug because I had to pull out bandicam as a last minute resort which has a limit on how long it records, so I had to repeatedly end recording and begin recording a lot. Didn't plan to record any of it beforehand.

>>145627925
>>145643407
Just vote on them.
>>145643407
There are no content removal polls around though. People are just all bark no bite, they threaten to make them, bug Lupa to add them, and when he does no one even tries. Which is a good thing of course, removing content is the lowest AO can go.
>>145653082
There are some people that are insane AA purists who literally want all the none AA characters and music removed.
Then again they are rec roomers who case like once a week and circlejerk the rest of the time.
>>145653290
Which is why it will never happen. Removing anything is a chore and takes at least two weeks and a Google Survey, as long as AA purists are a minority they will never remove anything. We don't actually need to remove anything right now, Krieger was the only one that deserved to be removed and he for whatever reason was replaced with empty gifs in the last update.
>>145653384
>and he for whatever reason was replaced with empty gifs in the last update
Because that's the only way to remove him.
>>145653482
How/why did he get removed though? I don't think anyone made a removal poll for him?
>>145653535
There was a poll, but it didn't count because
>DENIED because this document is not made for removal, only addition. If you want to remove something, we can debate about how to do that in the thread or in-game
http://www.strawpoll.me/10375539/r
The majority still seemed to want him gone
>>145653658
>denies poll
>still removes him
>>145653780
>>145653658
because removal polls are now a thing, a retroactive major vote can be called upon.
How do I test songs in AO, peeps? Do I just add them into my music files?
>>145656140
You could temporarily replace an existing song.
Just remember to back up the file you replace.
>>145656250
For the sake of looping, I imagine that doesn't work.
>>145657563
Welp, I tried.
>>145657563
Looping is done server-side by specifying how long a song is. For example:
Questioning(AA).mp3*59
Will loop that song once it reaches the 59 seconds peak. Meaning that you can adjust it at your own side to see how much is the optimal looping point.
This also means that most of our songs can have their loops improved if anyone cares enough to see when the best moment to loop is. That is pretty difficult for 416 songs but at the very least possible for the main ones like questioning, logic, objection and trial.
Tsu and I have worked on most of the issues and suggestions, the new commands added are here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1unoLS1Km45lGXZVmudt-pcgeuZ7Mn3N14q0laWbQAW0
I'll probably set up a test server later tonight so you guys can try breaking things.
Also if you have any more suggestions or if you want to help out, the github is
https://github.com/AttorneyOnlineVidya/serverD
>>145657954
Really neat additions, but what about the docbombing issue? Will you be able to see who entered the command and match it up to when docs are being bombed?
>>145658439
All doc-related commands are being heavily logged, we will be able to pinpoint who had access to the doc very easily.
Of course, it requires people not to leak the doc OOC or IC, as then anyone has access to it again.
Building a case in area 3
Is there interest in a global chat? It consists of the capability of sending messages that appear in all areas. Something like:
Adachi from Courtroom 3: Hello AO
Gant from Courtroom 2: Hello
Of course, anyone who doesn't want to see those messages would be able to disable them with a command, this is only here for those interested in the possibility of multi-area chatting.
Poll: http://www.strawpoll.me/10499735
>>145660547
Server-only global chat sounds good.
>>145660547
I'm not sure what it would be used for that that "LFG" style area setter couldn't accomplish, but it wouldn't hurt.
>>145660547
Any response to >>145633403 ?
The other thread said this problem as well. I thought last exam was to put this time slot with a mod. This new mod is great one, but problem is if this is true and there have no mods when they are needed. If a spam was during a case instead of rec room what would happen?
>>145665037
The new mod is online at the intended time slot (European times). The time slot you speak about is the night crew times, and the exam never intended to get a mod for those times
With that said, I am working on it, I plan to get someone that can be online during those times very soon
Any cases/areas that need people?
>>145665490

Why don't we use versions of the ingame tracks that actually properly loop?

I can still use some more suggestions
About to start on the defense guide
>page 10 again
>People don't think there's a meta
>People want to drop requests and replace them with >theories where detective has to confirm or affirm or deny it
Cases would rely purely on these theories and defense usually wouldn't have any other theory once detective disregards their first one. Just.. stop.
>>145724584
You act like "hand defense the case" is a buzzword, but that's literally what it would be, the case would rely purely on this decision.
>>145724115
>That would also at least partially remove the shit-tier theories that are "defendant dindu nuffin" with facts shoved in without any actual base.
I think this change would make that happen even more.

case?
>>145727306
>Cases would rely purely on these theories
As if they don't already? Sure, there's witness interaction, but you know that currently the culmination of a case is making a grand theory. Hell, sometimes you aren't even expected to find contradictions.
>defense usually wouldn't have any other theory once detective disregards their first one
As if keeping a clearly shabby one for the sake of "a good show" is better? Maybe after a couple of cases where defense is refused their theory they later will try to put more thought into it.
As person who wrote >>145724115
>I think this change would make that happen even more
Well, that's why I said partially. At least if the defense truly has nothing, they can have something. And even then, if detective sees that the theory is nothing but "pls give more incriminating evidence" he can deny it. Like I said in my previous point, I am certain this will work after a couple of cases.
>Nice to know YOU don't know what YOU want from a request you make thus wasting everyone's time
If you are so certain that this is some singular experience, you can surely provide examples of requests that aren't "analyze who this [blood/fingerprints/handwriting/etc.] belongs to", "search for more evidence" and "make evidence not vague again".
I guess I must note that I don't play too often, however, every example I brought up I encountered in my recent cases.
I've never heard about this before, is this an effective way to play with people online without roleplaying (I'm fucking shit at it) or is this a thing for only roleplayers could enjoy? By the way, what's the best case that happened on the server?

>If you're so certain, surely you can provide examples of requests that aren't "analyze who this [blood/fingerprints/handwriting/etc.] belongs to", "search for more evidence" and "make evidence not vague again".
Turnabout Forged in Steel:
>Can you look into how well trained BQ's bird is? As in if he could command it or if some others could as well
Forgot the name of this one but:
>Analyze the poolwater for traces of blood (Potentially hinting at a different murderweapon)
Camping Turnabout
>Search under the tarp for secret vietcong tunnels
Roundabout Turnabout:
>Check if the defendant’s hair are inside the wig
Turnabout Checkmate:
>Find out who was black and who was white?
Turnabout Down the Shitter
>Identify the girl in the wallet-picture
>ask for security footage
Turnabout >IT'S A FUCKING WATER MIRROR CASE
>Could you check if anymore people had similar or identical masks?
>And please find out when the power outage began exactly?
>Question the non-eyewitnesses and ask if there was any point where they took their masks off, or laid them down,
Not exactly limited to one case, but personally find that they make for a more interesting case:
>Find the keys/missing pawn/something mentioned already
>Background check on defense/victim
>"make evidence not vague again"
I'm not sure if I follow if you mean something that was vague because of casebuilding, because I'd say vague evidence being made unvague is one of the reasons requests are great
Or if it's because a witness caused doubt around a certain piece of evidence, which then, why would you want that doubt not cleared up?
>you know that currently the culmination of a case is making a grand theory. Hell, sometimes you aren't even expected to find contradictions.
There's also several cases where you just don't see giant theories plastered on the wall.
Also are you implying that witnesses nowadays don't at least plan out what they find to be contradictions?

In the end, as you said you're sure it'll work, I say try it out with others who like the sound of it, record the results, but don't act like it's the law from the get-go and completely disregard requests for it.

Just commenting aside here,
I was Ryu in a Turnabout Forged in Steel and the case pretty much boiled down to my first request to the Detective: "Check whose blood is on the Hawk."
This one fact helped prove a string of ideas I had conjured up.
The Detective submitting the information the Hawk could be trained if you feed it was entirely on his part
I'd also like to note I have no idea what you two are ACTUALLY arguing about.

Those are mostly decent examples, though some points could be argued to be possible to clear up during the cross-examination. Like I said, I haven't played too often as of lately and haven't seen anything like that.
>I'm not sure if I follow if you mean something that was vague because of casebuilding, because I'd say vague evidence being made unvague is one of the reasons requests are great
That's what I meant. However, I disagree, and think that manipulation of vague evidence in your favour is a much more impressive feat than
>detective whose blood was it on the victim
>oh yeah it was witness 2
It is another story when defense lacks evidence needed for pinning down the killer, but that's why I think it's better for detective to be on standby with the final piece, so to speak.
>There's also several cases where you just don't see giant theories plastered on the wall.
And they are rare. At least, in my experience, because that's what I see all the time. I personally hate "I have a theory" moments, but they are there, so not much to do except tp deal with it.
>Also are you implying that witnesses nowadays don't at least plan out what they find to be contradictions?
No, I mean that defense may start their theory-making before even uncovering any contradictions. And everyone rolls with it, because you aren't just gonna say "stop with your indictment, you haven't found a lie".
And yes, this all comes to nothing without actually confirming whether or not no-requests would work. Unfortunately, I most likely won't be able to play for about a month for IRL reasons, so I urge anyone who also thinks that a case can work without requests to build one in area 1 and check.

I believe person A wants to take out requests, and when we bring the detective back, just ask questions there and have the detective answer them. and also that requests can be boiled down to "luminol everything" and that nothing is ever asked outside of the norm.
Person B is arguing that requests are completely unique and depend on the case. and that requests are better left where they are and not sprung on the detective.

I like Person B's point honestly.
Requests are a fun AND important part of cases and they change from case to case.
Finished updating all the guides and finished making the Defense Attorney guide
Tomorrow I'm gonna try to start Judge and maybe make a little starter guide too
When are we going to have a 2-hour, 4-evidence, meme case again?
>>145746970
right now. Come to area 0.
>>145746832
And here's the new Defense guide, feedback is appreciated
I'll be posting all these on the wiki page soon

>Try to find out everything that the witness has to offer and then try to figure out the contradiction.
Can you specify that if you see the contradiction already, DON'T DO THESE? It is a waste of everyone's time.

have you ever played an AA Game?
There's theories in every case
>>145749150
>making a theory is a part of a guide
to be fair it doesn't tell you how to make a theory, just that it should include an MMO.
>>145749293
I guess my memory is pretty bad, because I don't remember Phoenix going "it's time for my theory" and then listing every single smallest part of a crime.
>>145749461
I also don't remember Phoenix taking an hour to CE. Things get exaggerated.
>>145749150
I think people are smart enough to just go for the contradiction if they see it outright
