There's not a single other race I'd want to play on alliance.
But yeah, gnomes have virtually no presence in the game or lore so I suppose that can make your character feel quite disconnected from the story and world. And you can't really go wrong with an orc when it comes to being apart of the story.

Hour 26 of my spineclaw crab farming, I feel like I have formed a special bond with the crabs, the gentler i kill them, the more chance of a monstrous spineclaw spawning.
along my journey I have met a druid who has found 2 crab pets in in 10 attempts. another druid on his 27th attempt, and me, alone killing crabs forever
what could I have done with 26 hours? read a couple novels at least, maybe clean my entire house, backyard, learn to cook a dozen new recipes, and more.
but no, i forse another 25-75 hours of killing crabs before RNG favors me. This happens to me with everything, i keep spreadsheets of my drop rates compared to the "reported" WoWhead numbers and i have some staggeringly bad luck(I need at least double amount of normal kills than reported, ranging across close to a hundred items i tracked), enough so that when I showed it to guildies and friends they either straight up call me a liar or over-exaggerator most every time.

So I've basically been playing Resto on my druid since vanilla, as soon as we got dual spec I picked up Blanace since I had int/spellpower gear with me.
However lately I've been a little curious about Feral, since I'm in the middle of doing Draenor Pathfinder now and Tanaan daylies (Just got back after a long break) I find that Moonkin is pretty slow, and being in cat form all the time would seriously speed things up.

TBC and WotLK did well most by riding on the backs of peoples love for the two most loved warcraft characters in existence and telling us that we need to fight for a year or two battling monstrosities to kill them face to face eventually. I was under the impression that the relics are there to further boost the best traits. So let's say there's a trait that gives you 1% haste per level and haste is REALLY good for your spec. You'll grab that early (on your way to, or straight after your first big boy trait). Then use relics to boost it more.
In the majority of cases you're not going to ignore the good traits unless there's a sick golden dragon down a shitty path.

PTR is mostly about bug testing, same with alpha/beta, it's just that streamers and shit give the impression that its "early access", if you're a high end mythic raider PTR and raid testing is expected but that's something your guild will inform you about, additionally the prepatch offers very little in this regard as oppose to a tier patch. You can peek around out of curiosity but there's not a lot to do.
