I myself just started chapter 3 a couple months ago. So far events are either cheesecake or conversations.
Animal Ears and Sadist are good, but some other traits are worth considering too like Cute Butt. I just stuck to their native job unless their highest stat gets a benefit like skills or stats that suit them. Leche benefits a lot from changing to Kitty Patterned Pantie because she's already a good attacker and the skills she gets from it complement her high attack stat.
With Otton, he can get angry 2 times before exploding and this one happens when you hit a weakness, but you aren't breaking a monster girl's clothes. I'm talking actually breaking them instead of damaging the clothes.
No idea on those last two though. Might check the archives because I know people were talking about this game before.

I'm not sure what's a good place, but generally it's a good idea to ambush at the newest location for equipment.
If there are other misc. bosses it'll be good to take them first. You need the crystals later on anyway.
Consider using more items for the key fight since you can't cast spells, it may help quite a bit.

You don't discover them by experimenting with items, you have to do something like make a cloth with carries heat or pick up an item you already have 50 of in the field to make an idea. You get a book in a couple friendship events but that's few and far between and only has one item.

BG2 is an improvement across the board from BG1.
More girls, more missions, more mission variety, more interrogation items, you can interrogate 2 girls at the same time, more bras, more panties, more guns, more outfits, bras/panties now have equip slots that you can put on your own power ups instead of having a prebaked one, characters can front/side/back dodge shoot like in max payne, characters each have theiir own passive skills and specials, support characters now give passives, guns have recoil now, there's 3 difficulty modes, enemy AI can now melee, throw grenades and do the same front/back/side dodges as you.
There's no reason to buy BG1 now that BG2 exists. Money spent on 1 would be put to better use to go to 2 instead. I say that as someone that actually liked 1.
