Jin is the Officially Designated Hero of the Story. Ragna's the Monster of the Story. That's the Official Setting. That's how it's supposed to be.
Remember in Chronophantasma, when Rachel talked about the "story"? The one where the hero kills the monster but doesn't save the girl. The one the girl rewrote over and over, but couldn't change the beginning or the ending because those were the only two points that were pre-written. This is that story.
So apparently, at some point, the monster got sick of this shit, took matters into its own hands and decided to save the girl itself.
