That WebM illustrates it perfectly. The goal was for me to come up with an easy to follow/imitate strategy to beat her for people doing around 200 damage, didn't rely on parries, and then to do it perfectly.
I had come up with the basic strategy in about 30 minutes. Any one playing through normally would have been able to win with just that. It took a bit longer, but I eventually mastered it and did it flawlessly.
The difference here is what is the goal, is the goal to have a strategy that makes it easier for people to win, or to do it flawlessly. They aren't the same thing.

If it helps, FROM specifically encourages people to back up their saves, because of the potential for hacking. Honestly even if you went into offline mode and just used CE to hack in all of the items you wanted (that were normal items not with fucked up stats or anything) you'd probably be fine as well.

Holy fuck, the update made some spells and pyromancies fucking amazing.
Remember this pyromancy? Remember trying it once and immediately regretting wasting souls on it when it wound up for two centuries and did no damage? Well guess what.
It now launches AS FAST AS COMBUSTION and only does SLIGHTLY LESS than a Fire Orb on top of doing a shotgun blast attack. It's now my favorite PvE pyromancy and you can catch low-health runners with it in PvP like nobody's fucking business. Try it.

Pyromancy is faster and more unpredictable. Good against groups too. A better choice if you want to go aggressive and balls deep. Sorcery on the other hand can be really tricky against ganksquads and is best used if you've got another faithful or spirit engaging them letting you attack from range and play carefully.

I would use CE but I feel like it is not guaranteed because of the invalid game data message you could get when you do happen to go online (unless you know if it always works/goes unnoticed if you only do items, not crazy stats/values altering). I used CE back in DS2 and I had a good experience with it.

It's not, like some people say, "the best build ever made" or incapable of being surpassed, but it didn't need to be.
The point of Giant Dad is that it is accessible. The entry level skill required to play a Giant Dad is extremely low, and the skill ceiling for mastering it is only basic PvP interactions like dead angling. It was very popular because it was very simple, a straightforward build that gets you ahead mainly on raw numbers. Any idiot can pick up and play a Giant Dad "effectively", because the aim of a Giant Dad build is not to reward skill, it's to minimize the player's disadvantages.
