but you can't just install multiple theme packs one by one. you collect all your themes, put them into separate folders, then you select them in howlingtheme and turn them into a CIA theme pack.
also, don't forget to delete the "Themes" title in the downloadable content section of system settings before installing the theme pack CIAs. An also remember to select Z to A order for themes when doing the auto-arrangement because the 3DS theme menu flips the order around (so Z to A would be A to Z when installed).

The short version is that process9 enforces a minimum version list (here's the list: https://gist.github.com/ihaveamac/55045622b4d19abfd156e02166ad2f11) that prevents you from installing a system title below a certain version.
Because it's process9 enforcing the minimum version, we're unable to bypass it without an arm9 exploit itself, which would be kind of pointless given that if we had an arm9 exploit we could just run CFW on 11.0 (though I guess it depends on the stability of the exploit).

Well, with an arm11 kernel exploit you can install legit CIAs, but there's no (publicly available) arm11 kernel exploit yet. As of right now you're restricted to arm11 userland, which is only good for basic homebrew stuff and malware.

No, but it's not difficult to do from arm11 userland.
You can send the notification LED a state through via i2c, and if you send it an invalid state the MCU will brick.
A hardmod won't help you here, the only person known to have recovered from an MCU brick is Dazzozzo.
It's possible, and I have some code that should do it, but A) I'm not willing to test it for obvious reasons and B) I'm not going to release it because that's opening a huge can of worms.

I'm currently stuck on part 4, step 16 (when trying to inject the FBI when you have to inject the FBI inject with banner) of the Plailect guide for arm9loaderhax, i've read here that you're supposed to download the 5th of May version of Decrypt9, but it hasn't worked, it keeps saying that hs.enc is the wrong size.
I've tried to install different version of Decrypt9, tried to use the Universal Inject Generator many times, but it still gives me the same mistake.
I've also accidentally injected hs.app at one point, and it said that hs.enc was the right size, but it wasn't for FBI_inject_with_banner, still doesn't work.
Any suggestions?

Probably an out-of-bound write. Let's say that blue LED is on port 1, red LED is on port 2 and green LED is on port 3, maybe something else entirely is on port 4 and trying to mess with LED #4 ends up sending garbage commands to another controller. It's actually more complicated than that because there's blink patterns and stuff too. https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/PTMSYSM:SetInfoLEDPattern takes 26 whole parameters worth of blinkenlights so it does look like their design is godawful.

Is there any way for me to get a save manager running on my O3DS running 9.2 and menuhax? I really don't want to take the time to install CFW just to back-up and restore saves. I've tried both save_manager and svdt, but both refuse to work with Fire Emblem Fates for whatever reason (I get stuck at a yellow screen when attempting to launch).

Also keep in mind that it could just be something the system does that finally ends up fucking it all up. If every single 3DS system version that you have a NAND backup for ends up doing the same thing, that's effectively a brick unless you have a9lh and a way to restore the MCU unit back to a sane state. The whole MCU bricking adventure was quite a while ago.
Things like not responding to a battery % inquiry would have the potential to break things a lot. Or even stuff like the home button / power button. It's really all speculation, nobody's willing to sacrifice a 3DS to test the limits and I'm not sure whether disassembling the MCU firmware's going anywhere right now.

Are you actually using the correct hs.app to generate the inject on your computer? You can also try injecting DevMenu instead. It's kinda old and stuff but it's a lot smaller than any version of FBI, it might fit where other stuff doesn't. Just get the .cia from http://pastebin.com/UGRA349r and throw that into the generator's input folder instead.
If you do that, you should absolutely use DevMenu to install the latest FBI.cia though.

GameYob was initially a GBC emulator for NDS but it got ported to 3DS (plus would work on R4 anyway). The NDS version at least supports NiFi (local wireless link) too, don't think the 3DS one does though.

Follow up from yesterday regarding certain themes not working.
Deleted the theme data from the SD card
Remade the pack
Reinstalling did not fix the issue.
Same themes are still broken
3 of them soft lock the 3ds
1 of them doesn't play music, or rather plays the last music that was played but other than that works fine.
Using Howling's theme tool to pack the files into a cia
Using FBI to install the themes
Running a9lh and up to date luma

I'm the dude from a few threads back who was having the fucky MHX issue with Luma's (that I still haven't fixed) but with MHG right around the corner anyway I've decided to just say fuck it to solving that issue and go ahead with doing a9lh. Thing is, since all my stuff was done months ago I want to make my system into as blank a slate as possible and just follow the plai guide from the start to ensure I don't have any problems. So I have a few questions:
Can you back up save data for individual games? I don't care about my MHX save and my copy of 4U is a cart one anyway, it's only my PSMD save I'm bothered about keeping.
Where about do I actually start if I'm going to follow the plai guide? Since my sysNAND will already be on 9.2

Yes, you can delete any rxTools file/folder, or you can keep them if you want. Whatever you do, you're not going to mess anything.
As for the FBI thing... no need to delete anything, just install the latest version and it will be overwrited.
Also, use ciangel or freeshop to download games directly on your 3DS, they're better than scan qr codes everytime.

The original link to boot rxTools from the browser is dead. There are alternative links you can use to boot rxTools but fuck that. If you just care about getting into CFW, ditch rxTools and get Luma3DS combined with homemenuhax instead. This way you can autoboot into emuNAND.
