Returning to Mira would be pretty alright for a final dungeon/boss. Everything from X is still there except whatever's forced you to land there is making it less than possible to explore everything (plus no saving on Mira so you can't get yourself stuck for the final boss means good luck exploring everything in one sitting). Imagine if a few gigantic, and I mean Zu Pharg size here, enemies were roaming around fucking shit up. You go out to the ocean and instead of the green forcefield of no passing there's fucking huge sea monsters.
