Even in pubs, I am learning to predict when a random will run in so I can shield them and soak up the sweet damage boost. Then I run into the fray and kick on my own as soon as I start taking fire.
That satisfying hum raising in pitch as I reach double power is so thrilling to me.
I guess the drawback is her ult needs to be coordinated with. But I just power up to 100, pop it and try to melt as many people floating around the singularity as I can. Usually 2-3 or more if no tanks in the mix.
I came into this game thinking I would NEVER try Zarya, but I'm glad I did.

It exists, but not for reasons you think it does.
To determine a player's skill level, they must play many games against lower, as well as higher skill level enemies so that the game can discern where they lie.
For the first portion the game is played by a person, they will be placed with very low MMR players. If they win, their opponents will likely be slightly higher MMR, and if they lose, likely lower.
Untill you play at least 300+ games, an ELO system more likely than not has you placed outside your actual skill level.
Patience is a virtue in this regard; if you play enough and are good enough you will eventually be matched with other players who are the same.

Genji maybe? I haven't tried Genji, I don't know whether his double jumps feel like going fast.
