well you must have consecration in the holy tree so go for that first and then you can start go down the prot tree,
make sure you always have righteous fury up, get as much int and stam on your gear as you can since you depend on mana to generate threat so look for eagle items on the AH. use a fast weapon with seal of righteousness so you can use judgement on targets that you might lose aggro on. use the crusader debuff on bosses for more aggro and if aggro is no problem then use either wisdom debuff or light debuff depending on situation. blessing of kings is good to have but if you lack a lot of int gear then consider wisdom for manaregen.
